Diddy Buys Son Justin Another Maybach

Diddy's son Justin recently celebrated his 17th birthday and marked the occasion with a more low key celebration compared to last year's appearance on MTV's “My Super Sweet Sixteen. “

What wasn't low key however was his gift from the Bad Boy Records head who bought him yet another $300,000 plus Maybach; this time a limousine.

Diddy was criticized last year for buying such an expensive gift for the teen but obviously ignored critics and gave his son another luxury car estimated to cost over $396,000.

Speaking on his recent birthday gift for his son, Diddy told London's The Independent that he rewarded his son for being an honor student and hopes he'll use it for special occasions.
Justin has turned himself around and is now an Honors student, which he wasn't before, so I wanted to treat him. It's a collector's car so maybe he will use it for special occasions like on a first date, but like all my kids, he prefers the simpler things than the expensive things. Simple tastes."

Justin turned 17 on December 30.

Game's 'The Hangover' Pushed Back to Monday

Game's 'The Hangover' Pushed Back to Monday

Fans will have to wait for Game's latest project, as the ten-track tape will now drop Monday afternoon.
Few emcees can match Game when it comes to their work ethic. Although the Compton emcee's

long-awaited fourth release The R.E.D. Album has yet to secure a release date, he has been keeping the Internet buzzing with acclaimed mixtapes, including last year's Brake Lights and last Monday's Purp and Patron. Now, fans will have to wait until Monday for the rapper's latest project Purp and Patron: The Hangover.

As DX reported on Thursday, Game is planning to release a ten song mixtape comprised of leftover tracks from his most recent project with DJ Skee Purp and Patron. But according to a new video trailer courtesy of Skee.TV, the release of The Hangover has been pushed back to this Monday at 4:20 PM PST. DJ Skee also confirmed the change in release via his Twitter.

This new release date isn't the first problem that Game has encountered in releasing this tape. The RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan recently filed a lawsuit over Game's inclusion of their song "Heartbreaker" featuring Rev. Burke on his Purp and Patron tape.

The trailer for The Hangover can be seen below.

Hackers Take Over Wale's Twitter, Fire Shots At Kid Cudi

The Twitter hack also included messages to Lady Gaga and producer Plain Pat.

Wale and Kid Cudi have exchanged some barbs in the past but there was little doubt that the message sent from the DC emcee’s Twitter account to Cudi’s were the work of some nefarious pranksters due to the tweets extremely mean spirited and slanderous content. The messages, sent Thursday night, read, “The rumors are true... @wizardcud is a satanic cokehead devil worshiper who sold his soul. u should never have come back to twitter pussyboy,” and “@wizardcud get off that liquid coke son stop playing dress up as david bowie. im gonna own u on wax you fucking emo ur jeans are 2 tight.”

The Twitter jokers also sent messages to pop superstar and Wale’s “Chillin’” collaborator Lady Gaga (“WHY DONT U RETURN MY CALLS NO MORE BOO?”), the producer of that track, Plain Pat (@PLAINPAT YOURE A FAT F--- GO TO HELL WITH UR BUTT BUDDY @WIZARDCUD), and RapRadar.com. Wale was able to get on the situation quickly and with the help of Twitter’s support staff regain control of his account. He tweeted afterwards:

Wale now joins the long line of celebrities who have seen their Twitter accounts hacked. Other Hip Hop personalities who have been victioms include Lil Wayne and Solar.

Chris Brown Asks For Restraining Order Against Rihanna To Be Lifted

Rihanna's attorneys will now decide if it it's okay for Chris Brown to attend award shows and events that the former couple plans on attending.

Virginia Pop/R&B singer Chris and attorney asked a Los Angeles court judge to remove the restraining order against former girlfriend Rihanna during a progress report. Dr. Dre Orchestrates Game’s Collaboration with Ashanti

Dr. Dre, Ashanti, and Game

Game dug into his rap Rolodex for his latest mixtape Purp & Patron, roping in production from Dr. Dre, RZA, and Pharrell, with guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, and Fabolous. But when it came to working with Ashanti on the gushy “Soft Rhodes,” he got some help from the man behind the boards.

While in the studio with the Compton rapper, Dr. Dre asked him if he had ever collaborated with the former Murder Inc. princess, and if there was anything keeping him from hopping on a song with her. “We were in the studio. Dre asked me if I had any drama with Ashanti, and I was like, ‘Nah.’ He was like, ‘You worked with her?’ And I was like, ‘Nah,’” Game told Rap-Up.com. “He was like, ‘You mind working with her?’ I was like, ‘Nope.’ He called her up and she came through and we did that.”

The Dre-produced cut, which boasts a soothing beat and catchy hook, sees each artist tackling the touchy issue of hooking up with an ex. “Just ’cause we break up don’t mean it’s over/ When I call, you comin’ over/ To get this here like I told ya/ I’ma get it every time I want it,” sings Ashanti.

Game is currently assembling the leftover tracks from his Purp & Patron sessions for another mixtape, The Hangover, scheduled to drop Monday.

Bruno Mars Cuts Deal in Cocaine Case

Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars has dodged a grenade. The Hawaiian-born singer, who was arrested on cocaine possession last September at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, has worked out a deal with the Clark County District Attorney’s Office where he won’t have a conviction charge on his permanent record.

As part of the deal, the seven-time Grammy nominee has agreed to a “deferred adjudication,” meaning that as long as he has a clean slate over the next 12 months and performs 200 hours of community service, the charge will be dropped and entirely swept under the rug. He will also have to undergo private counseling.

The hitmaker was taken into custody in the early hours of the morning at the Vegas hotel after security officials confronted him in the bathroom and found narcotics on his person. He was arrested and released hours later.

Game’s ‘R.E.D. Album’ to Be Star-Studded Fest

Game

Game struck gold with his double-disc mixtape Purp & Patron, a worldwide trending topic on Twitter since its release. But the Compton native promises that the giveaway has nothing on his long-awaited R.E.D. Album.

The West Coast MC claims that his oft-delayed fourth LP will exceed any material on his mixtapes. “The mixtape shit is incredible by the fans’ choice, but I know my music and the album is 20 times better than the mixtape,” he said. “It’s just a mixtape. I had no intention that it was going to be this big of a deal, but if people are raving over this mixtape like that, then the album is nothing to play with.”

Game maintains that R.E.D. will still be executive produced by Pharrell and feature production from Dr. Dre, and that he’s only a week away from settling on an official single. “I got a couple singles picked out. I talk to the label in a week and I’ll play them the whole album and we’ll come to an agreement collectively on what we should go with,” he explained. “I got shitloads of singles for the album. So we’ll see what catches and we’ll roll with it.”

As far as collaborations, the former G-Unit rapper did reveal that Chris Brown and Wiz Khalifa will make the final cut. “Oh yeah, Wiz is on the album, Chris is on the album. Pretty much everyone is on the album,” he shared. “Whoever you could think of. Except Jay-Z and 50.”

Though he wouldn’t say who else would be featured on the LP, he assures that R.E.D. will arrive in the next few months. “The album is going to be finished within the next couple of weeks so you can be looking for Interscope to get behind the single and push it and deliver a date,” he said. “The shit that’s on The R.E.D. Album is incredible.”

Crooked I Previews “A Pocket Full Of Money”

Gaga’s Fragrance Will Reportedly Smell Like “Blood and Semen”

Celebrity perfumes are a dime a dozen. You can smell like Kim Kardashian, Posh Spice, Taylor Swift, Reese Witherspoon -- almost any Tinseltowner you like. But Lady Gaga isn't your typical, sweet-smelling celeb. She's far, far from it. According to Fashionista.com, the shocking superstar is developing her first fragrance, and Mother Monster has reportedly requested that the scent "smell of blood and s****."

Hmm, bodily fluids haven't had as much success as, say, lavender or hibiscus in the world of fragrance, but Gaga is the queen of reinvention and pushing the envelope. And even though most of us probably don't think we want to smell like blood or s****, I bet this racy new product will sell out instantly around the world.

But Little Monsters, please take my advice and wait for Gaga's perfume to go on sale at a store near you. While making a miniature version of her meat dress might be pretty cool, a homemade concoction of blood and s**** is not a scent you should purposefully try to recreate.

Lil Wayne Reunites With Jay Sean; Finishing 'Tha Carter IV'

Lil Wayne is re-teaming with UK singer Jay Sean on a new single following the success of their smash hit "Down," which has sold over six million copies worldwide.

The two label mates have teamed up for Jay Sean's new single "Hit The Lights," which is slated to be released online on February 8th.

The single is taken from Jay Sean's upcoming Cash Money album Freeze Time, which is scheduled to land in stores in June and will feature guest appearance by Drake, Pitbull, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne and others.

In related news, Lil Wayne is in the final stages of recording his highly anticipated 8th studio album, The Carter IV, which will feature production from Kanye West, Swizz Beatz and others.

According to Young Money's President Mack Maine, he has been in the studio round-the-clock with Lil Wayne, as the label prepares to drop Tha Carter IV.

“I was in the studio all night workin’ on this Carter IV,” Mack Maine told XXL Magazine. “We got David Banner coming in tonight, so hopefully he’ll come with somethin’. We try to make sure — he kind of makes every album. He made Tha Carter III, and made [We Are Young Money].”

No release date is available for Tha Carter IV at press time.

Looks like 50 Cent & Ciara Got Twitter Beef Now

After leaving Hugh Hefner‘s pad, Pimpin Curly sent a few tweets out about his experience. When Ciara caught wind of them, she questioned Fif’s character. Who you callin’ a bitch?!
Everybody knows that 50 Cent and Ciara were rumored to be dating years ago. Not too long ago 50 Cent tweeted Ciara some nice comments and of course she replied nicely. Now it looks like some kind of beef might be brewing.

50 Cent asked his Twitter Followers to get at him if they want to have him as their Pimp. Of course lots of his female fans replied trying to get some dirty talk on with 50 Cent. As everybody knows, 50 Cent likes to have fun on Twitter and replied to people calling everybody "B****". Nobody seemed to take that seriously as an insult so, beside Ciara maybe.

Ciara's last tweets look like they might have been directed at 50 Cent: "The things people tweet say a lot about their character, pay attention!:)"

One of 50 Cent's tweets that got posted after Ciara wrote this look like it mght have been his reply: "Yea I tweet things that reflect my character b*tch. I have a sense of humor get one.lol that's why your 3 mill followers behind me."

As 50 Cent is getting closer to 4,000,000 Followers with his Twitter page and Ciara didn't even hit 1,000,000 Followers yet, this could clearly have meant her.

After 50 Cent's comment, Ciara posted another and so far last tweet: "ooohh, tell em why u mad b!"

Earlier yesterday 50 Cent had tweeted about a girl texting him on his phone for about 2 month and him not replying. Was that a hint at Ciara?

50 Cent: "Man this girl been texting my phone for 2 months I didn't respond. lol she just said I hate you from the bottom of my FOOT lmao"

50 Cent: "These girls be crazy I'm sorry there's know other way to put it. Lol"

50 Cent: "I'm trying to go to sleep this s*** head just text me again damn I gotta change my # lol"

Another noticable thing is that 50 Cent used to Follower 28 people until yesterday, one of them was Ciara. After this little "tweet-fight" his number went down to 27 and Ciara is nowhere to be found on his list.

The question really is if there is some real life beef going on as in my eyes nobody would overreact about some joke tweets if there isn't more behind the story.

Also 50 Cent used to follow Chelsea Handler a couple of weeks ago and she disappeared from his list recently. One fan claimed that 50 Cent got blocked by Chelsea but there is no confirmation to that at all.

Fabolous & Ne-Yo Working On Collabo LP

Not only is Loso giving us a new mixtape, but he revealed to XXL that he and Ne-Yo are working on a joint album. The project is rumored to be produced in it’s entirety by Ryan Leslie. Welcome to the best of both worlds.

“I think this year too I might be doing this project with Ne-Yo finally,” he told XXL. “We’ve been in talks for a minute. It’s really sounding like it’s gonna get done. Ne-Yo is really hyped about it. I just fell back on it, but now I see the wheels are turning a little bit. I think we need that for the game. Some of the allure from the game is gone. You see people doing less numbers, so now let’s do some vanity projects where people are collaborating together.”

Ginuwine Outraged At Explicit & Unauthorized ''Batteries'' Video Starring Porn Star Roxy Reynolds: ''It's An Attempt To Sabotage'' (VIDEO)

They say controversy sells, but when that controversy comes as a result of something an individual originally played no role in,, it can become a huge headache.

That's the experience singer Ginuwine is dealing with today. He's prepared to release an album titled ''Elgin'' next month and he does indeed have a song titled ''Batteries'' on it, problem is that he didnt put together a certain video that has hit the net starring adult film star Roxy Reynolds that is highly explicit and has him apologizing to his fans.

Shortly after becoming aware of the video, Ginuwine hit up Twitter to issue a clarification to his stunned fans saying:
"My apology to everyone that is not a video that I approved as you see I was incorporated in it pretty much an attempt to sabotage," he wrote in response.

"Thank you to all who have followed me I appreciate the love I am most likely to take this twitter down if it continues. Once again this video is not a video I approved I have a wife and daughters and would never approve something as explicit at this thank you."
Check out the video for yourself below. Warning:NSFW

Author Terry McMillan Accuses Will And Jada Pinkett Smith Of ''Pimping'' Their Children

Acclaimed author Terry McMillan has taken aim at Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, accusing them of "pimping" and "exploiting" their kids Jaden and Willow.

The ''How Stella Got Her Groove Back'' writer has gone public with her thoughts about the way the Smiths are bringing up their children in a post on Twitter.com and she doesn't approve of the success the youngsters are having so young.

She writes, "The Smith children already act like child stars. There's an arrogance in their demeanour and behaviour. I find it incredibly sad. It feels like the Smith children are being pimped and exploited. Or, they're already hungry for fame. What about 4th grade?

"A lot of A-list movie stars shielded their children from the Hollywood-world until they were old enough to decide. Look at those who didn't. Look at Lindsay. Phoenix. To name but a few. They miss out on childhood. It's more important than fame.

"These kids don't already know what they love. Total bulls**t. They're not prodigies. They think Hollywood is real. Why don't they do a remake of The Little Rascals and call it a day? Or, come up with an original film with some ethnic pride. Come on."

The comments obviously struck a nerve with quite a few people immediately and although not retracting her statement all together, she did hit Twitter again to address the controversial statement:
''I apologize for using the word pimp and exploit in referring to the Smith children. It was insensitive of me and wrong. Twitter is not the best forum to express some things. I didn’t know folks would take my opinion so personally. It is amazing, though, how fast an unflattering comment gets retweeted versus one that’s flattering. I’m done with this issue. My opinion isn’t going to change anything.''

McMillan's tweet comes a day after Willow Smith was confirmed as the star of an urban remake of movie musical Annie, which will be produced by her parents and rap mentor Jay-Z, who signed her to his label Roc Nation last year.

Lil Wayne Said To Be Completing "Carter IV" Recording This Week

Lil Wayne Said To Be Completing

Mack Maine says Weezy may finish Tha Carter IV this eveing, adding that he's only a couple of songs away from being finished with the LP.

Lil Wayne supporters eager to hear Tha Carter IV can applaud as its completion is nearing. Mack Maine recently confirmed that the LP is a couple of songs short of being finished. The finalized version may come as soon as David Banner adds his touches, something that he's done on previous Carter discs.

“I was in the studio all night workin’ on this Carter IV,” Maine recenty told XXL. “We pretty much finished, to be honest; we probably need about two more songs. We got David Banner coming in tonight, so hopefully he’ll come with somethin’. We try to make sure—he kind of makes every album. He made Tha Carter III, and made [We Are Young Money].”

After this, Maine noted that the album could be finished before the weekend hits, adding that Carter IV will show people Weezy's "maturity." To set this new "mature" LP up, Wayne teamed up with Hype Williams for a video that seems more like a "movie," according to Maine.

“[Wayne] actually shot his first video with Hype Williams, which is big. We just finished a four-day video shoot, which is like a movie to me.”

The album is said to feature usual comrades as well as "surprise" guest appearances. While no official list of producers has been released, Maine acknowledged that Detail and Swizz Beatz will definitely make the album.

Raekwon Explains RZA Not Being Involved With "Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang"

Raekwon Explains RZA Not Being Involved With

Raekwon talks to XXL about the RZA's absence on his upcoming 'Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang' LP.

A Wu-Tang Clan project without the RZA may sound absurd to many, but it isn't too far from the truth. One of the Wu's top lyrical assassins Raekwon recently told to XXL that the Abbot will not appear on his upcoming Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang LP, due out this March 8.

"RZA is not on the album," he said. "Being that he’s so die hard Wu-Tang, anything that sounds like it’s going at Wu-Tang wasn’t really up his alley."

Raekwon explained that there isn't any bad blood within the Clan, however. He says that the RZA's absence on his album is largely due in part to conflicting schedule, as the RZA is currently wrapping up production on his debut as a film director The Man with the Iron Fists. He also said that a lot of the album came out of his displeasure with the Wu's most recent LP as a group, 2007's 8 Diagrams.

"I aint mad at him [though]," he explained. "He’s doing his movie thing right now, he’s happy with that, and for me I’m just gonna keep the legacy alive. I think I’m a skillful artist that understands how to do things, so it wasn’t really a headache to not have him [involved]. He did things for me on Cuban Linx II which I’m very grateful for, but I didn’t want to get him to start dealing with [Wu-Tang vs. Shaolin] because I knew that at the end of the day he wasn’t fond about it."

He added, "It wasn’t about anybody trying to make this record to assassinate the RZA. We love the RZA. The RZA is the one that found us in the street. But we don’t always gotta be in love with the RZA you know what I’m saying? So this album was definitely picked from that time [with 8 Diagrams]."

Without the RZA on the boards, Rae enlisted the likes of Erick Sermon, the Alchemist, Havoc of Mobb Deep and Scram Jones to flesh out Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang. The album is due out March 8 on Ice H20/EMI Records.

Black Thought Talks Solo LP, Singing And Money Making Jam Boys

Black Thought Talks Solo LP, Singing And Money Making Jam Boys

While he showcases his singing nightly on Jimmy Fallon, Black Thought says he's been singing for a long time and he's also working on a solo album.

After a few postponed attempts, Philadelphia emcee and Roots co-founder Black Thought is at work on a solo album. Thought was rumored to be planning a solo effort for some time, but tracks from that project, such as “Thought At Work,” were eventually co-opted into songs on The Roots’ albums.

“The solo joint is in the works right now,” Black Thought told the New York Post. “Right now I’m putting together an EP for Def Jam; it’s probably going to be called The Talented Mr. Trotter. The Roots songs come from just a core foundation of contributors, but for my solo endeavor I’ll probably be reaching outside of that circle.”

Before fans see The Talented Mr. Trotter, Black Thought is working on a mixtape with fellow emcees Dice Raw, Sugar Tongue Slim and Truck North. Collectively known as the Money Making Jam Boys, Thought says their mixtape, entitled “Jam Boys Prestige,” should be released within a few weeks.

In the meantime, Black Thought holds down his nightly gig with the rest of The Roots as the house band for “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” The position has allowed Thought to showcase his vocal range as a fill-in background singer for some of the show’s booked musical guests. And while those who don’t remember songs such as 1995’s “Silent Treatment” may be new to the idea of Black Thought as a vocalist, he says he’s been plying the trade since elementary school.

“I’ve always been a vocalist…I’ve always been able to sing,” Thought added. “I was in city choir when I was in second or third grade, and I was in a choir at college. I’ve been an emcee since the age of nine. When The Roots came out and got our first deal in 1993 it just a different climate in Hip Hop. It wasn’t necessarily embraced for a rapper or an emcee to showcase their singing skills as well. Now you’ve got your Drake’s and Nicki Minaj and it’s like you almost have to know how to sing as well to be considered the full package.”

Lil’ Kim goes “H•A•M” on the latest leak from her Black Friday mixtape, dropping on Valentine’s Day. On the operatic track, Kimmy Blanco slips a verse between Kanye West and Jay-Z’s 16s, putting an opponent in the crosshairs. “Here go the rope, hang yaself/ Here go the shovel, dig ya grave!” stings the Brooklyn Bee on her Auto-Tuned verse. See if Kim goes hard on the track below.

New Music: Timbaland ft Attitude & 6 Two – ‘Lil’ Apartment’

Lil' Apartment

Timbaland can’t be stopped. After tweeting that an unnamed source was trying to shut down Timbaland Thursdays, Timbo isn’t letting down his fans. The beatmaker just released “Lil’ Apartment” featuring Attitude and 6 Two, originally intended for 2007’ s Shock Value, but ended up on the cutting room floor. The snappy song, which features a catchy sing-song chorus, boasts gruff rhymes aimed at the haters.

“I put some change on ya head/ Get a ni**a to kill you while you layin’ in the bed/ And leave your brains on the floor,” he spits over the bristly track.

Timbaland Thursdays in Danger of Being Shut Down

Timbaland

The end could be near for Timbaland Thursdays. After dropping two songs in his weekly music series, Timbaland is putting a halt on the giveaways, at least for now. The super-producer remained coy when explaining why fans won’t get a new song this week.

A few days ago, Timbo hinted that there were problems brewing. “Here we go ‘they’ up to it, ‘they’ tryin to shutdown my timbo thursdays,” he wrote. Today, he updated fans with news that “they” were still keeping his free music from hitting the web, but didn’t elaborate on the identity of the mysterious culprit.

“i knw some of yall been askin bout timbo thursdays for 2day & i told yall about my dilemma wit ‘they’ tryin to shut it down 4 various reasons,” he tweeted. “shit got me heated forreal.”

So far, Timbaland has released the Missy Elliott-assisted “Take Ur Clothes Off” and “Round Da Way Tim” as part of the series.

Fabolous Releasing New Mixtape

Coming off the success of last year’s mixtape, There Is No Competition 2, Fabolous told XXL that next month, he will be releasing The S.O.U.L. Tape. Loso says he will be rapping over soul sampled beats with no DJ drops. Niceee.
“I’m almost done with it. I did the poll [on Twitter] to get people interactive with it and see what names they would come up with. I’m doing it over all old soul sampled beats, so I wanted to keep the world ‘soul’ within the title. A lot of people picked ‘Soul Survivor’ or really attached it to There Is No Competition because they are already familiar with that and that’s one of the mixtape monikers for me. But I wanted to keep it separate from There Is No Competition, even though that name is winning [in the poll]. I might actually go with the third option which is ‘The S.O.U.L. Tape.’ The first one that was winning was ‘Rest The Souls of the Competition.’ That’s kinda like playing into There Is No Competition 2 and the next one is ‘TINC 2.5: Soul Survivor.’ But I’m trying to steer away from that because that’s its own brand. I want to steer away from both of those and just call it ‘The S.O.U.L. Tape.’”

“For a while there hasn’t been a tape without a DJ since like maybe Drake’s tape or Lil Wayne’s tape. Everybody usually has a DJ attached to it which is dope, I think it’s a dope thing for both the DJ and the artist. They usually blend the tapes well and it good for the music, but I think I want to do it without— just music. Its kinda one of those tapes that I want people to just sit through and listen and really hear the lyrics. DJs bring it back sometimes or they’re talking on top of it.”

Woman Accuses Diddy Of Knocking Down World Trade Center, Sues For $900 Billion

A woman has filed a lawsuit against Sean "Diddy" Combs, accusing the Hip-Hop mogul of a variety of charges, including knocking down the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

RadarOnline.com posted the lawsuit, which was filed by a woman named Valerie Joyce Wilson Turks, who accuses Diddy, his longtime girlfriend Kim Porter and LAPD victim Rodney King of being responsible for the collapse of the World Trade Center.

“Plus I won a lot of money at the casino in Mississippi and Sean P. Diddy Combs has my chip to my money. I heard he gave it to Gwen Allen to hold but she can not cash it in," Turks complained. "I want my chip please help me. it's well worth over 100 zillions of dollars, and my hospital keys. They put me and my baby in the hospital and broke my baby 2 legs and secksual[..]aulted my children and crushed us."

Game Talks About Dr. Dre Production On "Purp & Patron," Peace With Ashanti

Game Talks About Dr. Dre Production On

Game talks about "Soft Rhodes," the Dr. Dre-produced mixtape joint featuring Ashanti. He also talks about how he went from dissing her on "Higher" to working together now.

This week's Purp & Patron double-mixtape from Game marks a key element in his reunion with mentor Dr. Dre. The two Compton, California natives have been making new music for over a year together, as Game brought his R.E.D. album to Aftermath Entertainment, after leaving his original label for Doctor's Advocate and L.A.X.

In a new interview with Complex.com, Game spoke about "Soft Rhodes," the Ashanti-assisted song on Purp & Patron's disc two . "The whole version didn’t leak, so that’s why I threw the [Dr.] Dre joints out because they had already leaked," said Game about the song recorded in July. Game also spoke about the choice to have Ashanti on the song, who was formerly signed to Murder Inc., a foe of 50 Cent and G-Unit at a time when Eminem, Dr. Dre and Game were also involved in the war on words. "[In terms of having a song with Ashanti], I don’t think she was riding with anything. She separated herself from the beef if anything."
Interestingly enough, Game did not leave the Long Island, New York singer out of his line of fire. On 2005 hit single "Higher," Game rapped "And I'll do anything but I won't fuck Mariah / Even if she had Ashanti butt naked in bed / 'Cause she got a forehead just like Tyra."

Despite past words, Dr. Dre initiated the symbol of truce. According to Game, "Dre called me and was like, 'You ever work with Ashanti?' and I was like, 'Nah.' He was like, 'Are you opposed to it?' And I said, 'Nope.' So we did it."
