The-Dream Working On New Music With Jay-Z [Video]
The-Dream has made millions off of penning records for the likes of Rihanna, Justin Bieber, and Beyoncé, and now he's gone Hip-Hop. Of course the Atlanta native has linked with rappers in the past, but in a new interview with Vibe.com, the self-professed Radio Killa revealed that he's tapping into the holy grail of Hip-Hop collaborations by working with Jay-Z.
"We've already done something, we've done a couple things," The-Dream told VIBE, while failing to elaborate on exactly what kinds of things he and Hov are cooking up. Seeing as how he's worked with Mrs. Carter in the past, getting Jay's stamp of approval seems like an obvious move, but as far as a release date is concerned, perfection takes time. "It's coming, can't rush the wine. Whenever he wants to do it, that guy, you never know."
One subject that Dream wasn't so tight-lipped about was jumping in the studio with Rihanna for the "Birthday Cake" remix. The music world has been up in arms with the Bajan beauty for her decision to allow Chris Brown to share billing on the track. While Rih Rih is brushing her haters off—taking to Twitter to address the madness from time to time—according to The-Dream he was just as confused as everyone else.
"My initial reaction was like Okaaayyy... not in no bad way or whatever," he said. "Rihanna is pretty smart and she knows what she doing, she knows what she wants to do and I'm behind her 100 percent in whatever it is she wants to do and I don't really care about the......she's not harming anybody. It's not really a care of mine to somebody who's going to speak on it in whatever way, it only matters to me how she feels about what it is she's doing and for me to try and facilitate that the best way I can."
That's his story, and he's sticking to it.

Birdman Explains Signing Limp Bizkit To Cash Money
Birdman discusses signing the Nu Metal band.
Cash Money turned heads last week when the label signed late 90s-early 2000s Rock-Rap band Limp Bizkit.
Now, label head Birdman explains what spurred the surprising move.
“Fred [Durst] reached out, bruh,” Birdman said in an interview with XXLmag.com. “It was weird how it happened. He was like, ‘Stunna, what’s good?’ I was like, ‘What’s poppin, 5?’ [Fred said] ‘I wanna join the team.’ Whoa! For real? He didn’t have to say it twice. I was already a fan of him. When the opportunity came, we really was supposed to announce it at the Grammys. Wayne was going to announce it at the Grammys, but he did it when he felt like it.”
Birdman added that the group's first single features Lil Wayne and will come out next week.
“He’s a visionary, he a great artist,” Birdman said of Durst. “Also, I want him to be a part of our staff and take over the rock department and bring us over more talent because that’s what he does. I think with having Limp he brings a lot."
Before releasing Gold Cobra last year to mixed reviews, Limp Bizkit's last album was 2005's The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1).
50 Cent Says Trip To Africa Has Inspired Him To Record New Music
50 Cent explains how his trip to Kenya was "enlightening."
50 Cent recently took a trip to Africa earlier this month to further his mission to alleviate hunger - a visit that has inspired him to hit the studio. During an interview with the Associated Press, Fif said that his lyrics are motivated by his experiences in Kenya but that fans will have to listen closely to interpret his message.
"I've put portions of my experience there in the actual songs, but it's so small that they'll have to listen to get it," he said. "I wanted to keep the record, creatively, in a space where when people listen to it, they just enjoy it before they can really understand what it was I'm saying; there's things on it that have double meanings."
Fiddy has made it his mission to stop hunger in Africa, donating proceeds from sales of his energy drink Street King to the cause. He explained how seeing hunger firsthand has inspired him and that he’s provided more than 3.5 million meals so far.
"It enlightened me in different ways," he said. "To actually see people under the circumstances that I saw was a totally different experience. I don't think you can prepare yourself for that, no matter how many times you've seen the images.
The-Dream A Producer On Pusha T's Def Jam Debut
R&B producer and singer-songwriter Terius “The-Dream” Nash has been part of Island Def Jam's executive board since 2009, allowing him access to the development of the label's upcoming releases. Of those acts soon to put out new product, Virginia rhyme slinger Pusha T's signing with Def Jam last summer led to the pair working alongside each other for the Clipse rapper's as-yet-untitled debut on the storied label. The-Dream breaks down their musical alliance, and promises it will be ready to drop soon.
“Yeah. We found a little magic. We did, like eight, nine records together. It sounds really, really great. I've always loved him and loved the Clipse. Always been a big fan, so when the opportunity came, we did this one record called “Automatic” and it just took off from that,” said The-Dream in an interview with Complex.
The-Dream has to await clearance from G.O.O.D. Music honcho Kanye West before giving the album a stamp of approval. “Yeah, Kanye will listen to it in the upcoming days and we're going to try to decide what we need and what's missing, which is probably like two or three records—which we probably already have. It's at the end of that.”
