T.I. Dropped From Remy Martin Cognac

Bad news keeps coming for T.I. Four months after being named the new spokesman for Remy Martin, it has learned exclusively that the cognac maker has severed ties with the rapper.

Sometimes the “road to redemption” is a difficult path. Regrettably, we will not be able to continue collaborating with T.I. at this time. We wish T.I. well and hope he will devote his time and energy to staying the course.

Last Tuesday, AXE body spray dropped Tip from their latest promotional campaign. Ya smell me?

Kanye West Jokes About Devil Worship And Illuminati Rumors: ''Can You Devil Worship On The New iPhone?''

Kanye West's latest artistic endeavor, the musically-driven, short film "Runaway," has been a hot topic among his fans, with #runaway and #askkanye becoming Twitter trending topics after the film's Saturday night premiere on MTV. Apparently, some viewers felt the project invoked symbolism of the Illuminati, an ancient secret society that has been linked to contemporary conspiracy theories suggesting an elite group of leaders control the world unbeknownst to the general public.

On Sunday (October 24), 'Ye took to his Twitter page to humorously address rumors that he's a member of the purported society and worships the devil. Apparently, Yeezy has no clue what the society even is.

"I've got question about "the illuminati" ... what is it exactly ??? ... and why do people think pop stars have a membership???!!! LOL," he tweeted. "Is illuminati and devil worshipping like the same thing ... do they have a social network that celebs can sign up for?"

The MC also joked about which new tech gadgets and social media outlets would work for his so-called satanic lifestyle.

"Question... can you devil worship on the new iphone??? LOL!!!" he typed. "What's better for devil worshipping Iphone or the Droid... Does lucifer return text... is he or she on Skype? Don't wanna be sexist."
'Ye even took a crack at sparking a devil-friendly trending topic.

"#DoyouthinkLucifer uses in in ear monitors or signature Beats by Dre headphones???!!!" Yeezy wrote.

The MC did say he was cool with legendary hip-hop spinner and producer DJ Clue, who's known for lacing many of his projects with a chant that sounds similar to Illuminati.

"I am down with Cluemanotti though," he wrote. "That's my boy."

Yeezy joked about claims that he's down with the devil on Twitter, but he has also recently addressed one of his lyrics that may have riled up fans. In a sit-down with MTV News after the premiere of "Runaway," broke down the meaning of a rhyme from a freestyle he kicked last year that lit up the blogosphere.

"There's this line where I say, 'I sold my soul to the devil, that's a crappy deal,' and all these people said, 'What you mean you sold your soul to the devil?' But when I say it, I'm saying, when I allow other people's ideals to interfere with what I know is true to myself, that's the devil," West explained. "So, it's like, people talking mess on the blogs is the devil or ...trying to call me names, that's what the devil is. And me thinking twice about what it is that's really in my heart because of what people's reaction would be is me selling my soul to the devil."
The lyricist maintained that he will no longer let others' opinions stifle his creative expression.

"You're on earth for only 80, 90 a hundred years," he said. "I have to create from my dreams, from the dreams I had as a 5-year-old, and use everything — all the greatest people and all the tools I have around me — and ask as many questions as I can to help facilitate and bring this out. And this [film] is one of the first examples of a dream coming true."

Yeezy isn't the only hip-hop star to catch heat about a visual supposedly packed with satanic imagery. Jay-Z and Swizz Beatz batted away rumors, earlier this year, that the slick video for their collabo "On to the Next One" was riddled with demonic references. MTV

50 Cent To Star In Film With Meg Ryan

50 Cent continues to take his acting career to the next level as he will be starring alongside Meg Ryan, John Lithgow, Joe Anderson and Kat Dennings in the upcoming film "Lives Of The Saints."

Set to begin filming in Los Angeles on November 13, Variety reports that the film tells the intertwining stories of a group of Angelenos seeking redemption for past mistakes, only to find that forgiveness comes from unlikely places.

The film will also feature Anthony Anderson and Esai Morales.
As previously reported, the G-Unit general negotiated a $200 million dollar agreement with Grindstone Entertainment/Lionsgate to release a series of ten films.

First film under the deal is entitled "Set Up," which was written and directed by Mike Gunther.
Paul Walker is in talks to star opposite Jackson in the heist action movie which is budgeted at $20 million.

Atlanta Group Begs Judge To Keep T.I. Out Of Jail

A mystery group has filed court papers on behalf of T.I hoping to save him from going to jail.

As previously reported T.I. was sentenced to 11 months behind bars for probation violation after being caught with marijuana and testing positive for ecstasy.

Now however, an unknown group identified only as “Citizens Of The State Of Atlanta Georgia” wants a judge to send the rapper to rehab instead.

According to TMZ, Citizens Of The State Of Atlanta Georgia filed the papers on Thursday and in the poorly written documents claim that it would be a “waste of tax dollars” to send T.I. back to prison.
“More importantly however, is the fact that taxpayer's money ought not to be wasted to pay the expense to incarcerate a Defendant at the whelm of a Probation Officer and/or an Assistant U. S. Attorney, when, as in this case, other appropriate remedies are available as an alternative to incarceration; otherwise, this case would only be an example of the reason prisons are over-crowded and explains recidivism.”

The group also defends T.I.'s drug use saying that physicians “has prescribed” opiates for pain and other illnesses, thus making it an improper basis for incarceration.

“Second, even if Mr. Harris did submit to a drug screen via urinalysis that returned positive for opiates, however, Physicians since the nineteenth century has prescribed opiates for pain. They were also widely prescribed, however, for cough, diarrhea, dysentery, and a host of other illnesses. Thus, anyone on federal Probation who are prescribed opiates by a Physician for pain and then test positive for it in a Probation Office setting would find themselves incarcerated, which, again, would not be a proper basis to find a violation of probation.”

TMZ contacted T.I.'s lawyer who says he has no idea who the group is and he has no plans of appealing the judge's sentence.

Swizz Beatz Sued for $1.5 Million in Royalty Lawsuit

A songwriter named Antwann Frost is also seeking a equal ownership for a song he wrote for Swizz Beatz's artist Cassidy.

Alicia Keys' husband Swizz Beatz is facing a lawsuit from a songwriter who alleges the producer failed to credit him on a track he worked on for rapper Cassidy. Antwann Frost filed suit this week claiming he and Swizz Beatz co-produced a track called "My Drink 'n My 2 Step" in 2007 for the hip-hop star's third album "B.A.R.S.: The Barry Adrian Reese Story".

But Frost was not acknowledged with a producing credit for his work and he alleges Swizz Beatz - real name Kasseem Dean - later offered him $5,000 and five per cent ownership of the song. Frost insists he rejected the offer and is now taking his complaint to court, seeking $1.5 million and equal ownership of the track with Swizz Beatz and Cassidy, according to TMZ.com.

Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys recently welcomed their first baby and named the tot Egypt Daoud Dean.

Cam'ron Slams Ma$e for Failing to Show Up at Huddy 6's Funeral

When one fan asked him if Ma$e attended the funeral, Cam'ron wrote on his Twitter page, 'Hell no dat f**kin sucka a** n**ga (sic).'

Cam'ron has taken aim at fellow rapper Ma$e after he failed to attend the New York funeral of their tragic pal Huddy 6. The fallen star, born Andre Hudson, was killed in a car crash earlier this month and he was laid to rest this week.

But Ma$e, who recruited Huddy 6 as a member of his group Harlem World, was nowhere in sight - and Cam'ron has voiced his anger on his Twitter page. In reply to a fan who asked whether Ma$e was in attendance at the memorial service, he wrote, "hell no dat f**kin sucka a** n**ga (sic)."

Cam'ron grew up with Huddy 6 in the Big Apple's tough Harlem neighborhood and has previously credited his pal with saving his life when he was shot twice in 2005.

Eminem Is The Hottest MC In The Game!

Everyone loves a comeback story, and in 2010, that's what they got from Eminem.

Even though Marshall Mathers sold 608,000 copies of 2009's Relapse in its first week, the project was panned by critics and longtime Em fans. They said he rhymed in too many weird voices, that the production sounded dated and that the subject matter was too grim. The LP didn't make enough of an impact, and there really wasn't much buzz around Eminem to even warrant him making the Hottest MCs list last year.

This year, however, was totally different. Eminem pretty much dominated 2010 from start to finish, and the MTV News Hip-Hop Brain Trust voted him the #1 Hottest MC in the Game. "Obviously, the last album was lackluster," mtvU's Yomi Desalu said during the Hottest MCs roundtable discussion. "I think he recognized that, not being on the board last year."

Em got back in the swing of things this year, first by ripping the all-star posse cut "Forever," which, despite being released in September 2009, had enough momentum to keep playing all the way into 2010. Then he guested on the Lil Wayne single "Drop the World," a highly anticipated duet between the two rappers that had been buzzed about for years; added a poignant verse to the remix of B.o.B's "Airplanes"; and even dropped a couple of freestyles (on Drake's "Over" beat and Lloyd Banks' "Beamer, Benz or Bentley").

It all led up to the release of the first single from Recovery, "Not Afraid." The song was a turn of form for Em that found him spitting motivational rhymes and encouraging people to face their fears, for better or worse. In a post-recession America, it felt like a message people really needed to hear: Don't give up, because we're all in this together. "Not Afraid" hit #1 on the Hot 100 and pushed Recovery to 741,000 units sold its first week. Em followed that with "Love the Way You Lie," which was poignantly assisted by Rihanna.

That song also hit #1 on the Hot 100, as well as pretty much every other Billboard chart. The video was viewed 6.6 million times on the day it debuted on Vevo, a record for the site, and has since been viewed 167 million times. Both songs remain staples on radio playlists and video countdowns nationwide.

"Something about Em this time around, you don't feel like he's following some type of formula," MTV Jams' Tuma Basa said. "He didn't come out with that corny Slim Shady record. This time, he came like, 'I came to play.' And the records have this motivational anthemic type [of feel] we haven't seen in him. He's stepping into a new space."

While there's little doubt Em will take home a stack of trophies at the 2011 Grammys, he actually nabbed two this year for Best Rap Album (Relapse) and Best Performance by a Duo or Group ("Crack a Bottle" with Dr. Dre and 50 Cent). He also brought home VMAs for the Best Male Video and Best Hip-Hop Video for "Not Afraid," while winning three Teen Choice Awards (Choice Rap Album for Relapse, Choice Rap Artist and Choice Rap/Hip-Hop Track for "Love the Way You Lie").

He also had a handful of performances on the BET Awards, the VMAs and the Grammy Awards. And who could forget his cameo on the season finale of HBO's "Entourage"? Em was everywhere in 2010.

But it was his Home and Home Tour with Jay-Z this past September that really showed just how big of a year he had. MTV News' Shaheem Reid wrote of the concert at Comerica Park: "Detroit hasn't screamed this loud at a baseball park since Kirk Gibson was hitting home runs in the 1984 World Series." Em actually faced stiff competition during the roundtable, where he was initially voted #2. Some Brain Trustees were coming for his head, claiming Jay-Z or Kanye should actually have that slot. The coup didn't last long, though.

"When you do close to 3 million in three months — come on, man," MTV News supervising producer Sean Lee said.

"You think Kanye's gonna sell 3 million?" MTV News senior producer Rahman Dukes added.

Others, like MTV News senior writer Jayson Rodriguez, felt like Kanye held more cultural caché at the moment. He was the new guy on the block; Em was old news.

But when it came down to a test of skills and performance on records, Eminem got the nod.

"He jumped on Wayne's 'Drop the World' and murdered that verse," Reid said. "Obviously, you heard him on 'Airplanes' with B.o.B, a very unexpected collaboration. Now you gotta come sit at the table with the other bosses in rap, and he's doing it."

Eventually, after initially voting to keep Jay-Z at #1, because of Eminem's momentous year, the roundtable pushed Em to the top.

Katt Stacks Regrets Exposing Soulja Boy

Hip-Hop groupie Katt Stacks may not have any regrets for exposing her numerous conquests, but she does feel bad about calling out Soulja Boy and accusing the Atlanta rapper of using cocaine. In a new interview with Vibe magazine, Katt discusses a variety of subjects, from her pimp, to her drinking habits, as well as her time as a real prostitute earning thousands. But when the subject of Soulja Boy came up, Katt Stacks revealed that she apologized to the rapper. "I don’t regret any of the things I’ve done to the people I exposed… except for Soulja Boy," Katt Stacks stated. "We were actually good friends and we just had one misunderstanding and lack of communication that day when I put the video out. I did it out of being angry that day instead of thinking of what we had in the past. I apologized to him and we’re friends now, we squashed beef. It’s not the same relationship as before, but we’re still cool."

The optimistic first single “Election Time” is noticeably brighter, featuring a choir chanting behind him on the chorus. March with Clef by listening below.

Rapper T.I. Sued Over 'Welcome Back Party' Before Heading To Prison

T.I. may be heading to prison for the next 11 months, but that has not stopped an angry promoter for suing the rap star over a canceled "Welcome Home" concert.

Carl D. Davis filed a lawsuit against T.I. in the United States District Court for the Southern Division of Alabama on October 18th,

Davis claims he was supposed to host T.I.'s first "Welcome Back Party" which was supposed to be held at the Birmingham Jefferson Coliseum on May 28th, 2010.

According to Davis' lawsuit, he flew to Atlanta and gave over $80,000 to representatives for T.I. to confirm his performance.

Things began to sour when T.I. allegedly hit local radio station 95.7 FM and stated that he would host the party, but not perform.

T.I.'s announcement allegedly caused many fans to question the validity of the concert, resulting in an extreme amount of stress on Davis, who was ultimately hospitalized over the ordeal.

"Coupled with his financial expenditures since the inception of the agreement, Davis began to experience heavy stress, suffer chest pains, nausea, emotional distress and hospitalization because of the vast amount of investments he made," Davis' lawyer claims in the lawsuit.

According to Davis, he lost over $340,000, which was his entire life savings and is suing the rapper to recover some of his money.

Nelly Wants People to Forget Chris Brown's Past

'What people seem to forget is that this was a kid, a kid that made a mistake that, sadly, grown men make every day,' the rapper comments on Brown-Rihanna incident.

Rapper Nelly hopes fans can forgive and forget Chris Brown's attack on ex-girlfriend Rihanna, because he is adamant the singer has "learned his lesson". Brown saw his popularity plummet after he viciously beat the "Umbrella" beauty in 2009. He was later convicted of felony assault and sentenced to five years probation.

But Nelly, who enlisted the "Kiss Kiss" singer for his new album "Nelly 5.0", is adamant Brown is a different man from the "kid" he was at the time of the attack. He tells Britain's Daily Star, "What people seem to forget is that this was a kid, a kid that made a mistake that, sadly, grown men make every day. If we're going to give anyone the benefit of the doubt, it should be a kid."

"Chris has been through a lot, he's learned his lesson now. He's such a talented kid, such a great singer and I always knew that would prevail."
