Wiz Khalifa Releases Limited Edition Sunglasses

Rapper Wiz Khalifa speaks on his limited edition line of sunglasses in an interview on "The Morning After." 

In an interview with Shade 45′s The Morning After Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa spoke on a number of topics including the new limited edition sunglasses from his “Black And Yellow” music video.

“I don’t do too much. I do just enough. And I wear all my own shit anyways,” Wiz Khalifa explained. “It’s like everything’s Taylor Gang, Levi’s…the sunglasses definitely came out.

Only 500 pairs of the limited edition sunglasses will be released. The rapper also revealed that he plans on working with Converse as well.

On top of his signature sunglasses Wiz Khalifa will also be releasing his own black and yellow lighters via the Time Bomb Shop in Pittsburgh. Time Bomb Shop will be giving the lighters away to customers who spend more than $100 at their store.

“Rostrum Records just dropped off a shipment of Wiz Khalifa lighters in black and yellow to our good friends over at Time Bomb Shop in Pittsburgh,” read a post on TaylorGangClothing.com. “Roll on threw Time Bomb today and grab yours before they go up in smoke.”

Cee Lo Green To Perform "Fuck You" At The Grammy Awards

The Goodie Mob member will perform his middle-fingered hit on February's big stage.

Atlanta, Georgia emcee/singer Cee Lo Green is enjoying the success of hit song "Fuck You" from his November album, The Lady Killer. The Goodie Mob and Gnarls Barkely member has been confirmed by TV.com to perform the hit song at the 2011 Grammy Awards.

While Cee Lo was forced by FCC regulations to do a clean rendition of the song, changing its popular chorus. The 53rd annual Grammy Awards will air February 13, 2011 at 8pm EST on the CBS network.

Christina Milian Still Maintains Friendship with The-Dream

Christina Milian made headlines earlier this year after splitting from her super-producer husband The-Dream, with whom she had a baby girl. But the new mom is ready to speak on the rumors surrounding her divorce. The 29-year-old singer-actress grabbed a seat on “The Wendy Williams Show,” shooting down reports that she was under a gag order and received a $4 million settlement.


“I have no idea where that rumor came from, and it’s completely a rumor,” explained the upcoming star of ABC Family’s Christmas Cupid. “Everything about that it is all fictitious. I’m completely allowed to speak about anything that I want to. Except the settlement, we do choose to not make that public.”

Christina, who has a single due in March and an album to follow later in 2011, still tries to maintain a civil relationship with her ex-husband for her daughter Violet’s sake. “I didn’t want to fight,” she said. “I really want my daughter to have her father around and to have a friendship, to try to build somewhat of a friendship for my daughter, and have some kind of relationship to be able to speak to each other about her every day. I didn’t want to fight. I’m moving on.”

Keyshia tries to get back her power in an attempt to shake the bad memories of a sour relationship, swearing she’ll never fall into a bad relationship again. “I think it’s 50-50 in this thing/ If I’ve ever done something to you, you did the same,” raps Timbo, who offers the male perspective on his verse.

“Where Would We”
Funky and chilled out, “Where Would We” pops with its spunky bass line and rich ’70s soul sample. On the introspective track, Keyshia realizes it’s time to make a change, and that it begins by focusing on herself: “It’s up to me to change my life/ And everything around me/ And I’m constantly working on me.”

Wu-Tang's Masta Killa Drops New Line Of T-Shirts, Limited Edition Pens

 Masta Killa of Wu Tang clan has teamed with Akomplice clothing to release a limited edition line of T-shirts to emphasize the power of words.

The rapper's collaboration with the company is titled "The Pen Is Mightier Than The Sword." The line features a handgun transforming into a pen, to underscore the importance of the written word.

"Masta Killa has traveled the globe and made a living demonstrating the strength of the written word," Akomplice's owner Patrick Liberty said in a statement. "The collaboration includes both a t-shirt and a pen, and will be a limited one-time release, available worldwide at many fine Akomplice retailers."

In addition to the new clothing line, Masta Killer is putting the final touches on his upcoming new album Loyalty is Royalty, which is slated to hit stores in early 2011.

The first single from Masta Killa's upcoming album is titled "Things Just Aint the Same" and is currently in stores.

Masta Killer's exclusive line of shirts costs $35, while the limited edition pen will cost $18.

Snoop Calls Out Texas Cops For Arresting Singer Willie Nelson

Fellow marijuana smoker Snoop Dogg has come to the defense of world famous country singing - pot smoker Willie Nelson, who was recently busted in Sierra Blanca, Texas with six ounces of marijuana.

Snoop, who has a license to smoke cannabis legally in California, lashed out at the officer who arrested Willie Nelson, who many regard as an American icon.

"They better leave willie the f**k alone why are the f**king with willie nelson," Snoop Dogg told TMZ. "Sometimes y'all need to back up off certain people and have a certain amount of respect for your elders. he's somebody who lived through many decades of the music business, and hard times. give him that respect.

Nelson's ordeal began on November 27th, when Hudspeth County officers noticed the smell of marijuana emanating from his tour bus at a "routine" checkpoint.

A search of the bus uncovered the drugs, which the 77-year-old musician claimed as his.

"Who's the motherf**ker that arrested him? Who is the police officer that said 'you are under arrest and have the right to remain silent,' you dumb motherf**ker you, you stupid motherf**ker you!" Snoop Dogg snapped. "What you think you are going to gain by arresting Willie Nelson? He got out and he's back smoking right now."

According to Hudspeth County Sheriff, Nelson paid a $2000 bond and was released. If convicted, Willie Nelson could spend up to 180 days in jail.

"He could get 180 days in county jail, which if he does, I'm going to make him cook and clean. He can wear the stripy uniforms just like the other ones do,"  said Sheriff Arvin West, who seemed to look forward to Nelson's incarceration.

"If you got a problem with Willie Nelson, you got a problem with me," Snoop said. "I got a weed license so you can't take me to jail for smoking weed. Matter of fact, I got some on me right now," Snoop said, before lighting up.

Alicia, Swizz Slash Sale Price On NY Mansion

The ailing real estate economy has caught up to R&B singer Alicia Keys and her husband Swizz Beatz, who are attempting to sell Keys' Syosset, New York mansion.

Keys, who put the 2.2. acre, six-bedroom mansion on the market for $3.5 million in June, has been forced to chop down the selling price to $2.99 million after just six months.

The singer is attempting to sell the gated mansion, which comes with an elegant in-ground pool, marble floors, spiral staircases, for the new $14 million Manhattan penthouse she shares with her superstar producer/husband, Swizz Beatz.

A number of other famous entertainers have been impacted by the real estate market.

In August, Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons slashed the price of his Saddlebrook, New Jersey mansion from $23 million to $13 million.

In February, rapper Eve, put her Hollywood Hills mansion up for sale, while Kanye West recently put his Hollywood Hills, California mansion on the market for $3.99 million.

In July, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz reportedly purchased Lenny Kravitz' former Manhattan penthouse for $14 million, over $5 million less than the original asking price of $19.5 million dollars.

Producer Teddy Riley Says The Song "Monster" Came About Because Michael Jackson Was Fascinated By 50 Cent "Michael Wanted 50 Cent On A Record With Him"

Michael Jackson wasn’t known for his collaborations with rappers, aside from his songs "This Time Around" and "Unbreakable" with Notorious B.I.G. He did occasionally borrow from hip-hop–Heavy D appeared on his 1991 song “Jam”–but he mostly focused on pop. He was the “King of Pop,” after all.

Jackson’s coming posthumous album “Michael,” due out Dec. 14, features an unlikely guest star: 50 Cent. The rapper and Jackson appear on the track “Monster.” How did this come about? Was this some pairing dreamed up by marketers after Jackson’s death last year?

According to producer Teddy Riley, who worked on “Monster” and produced some of Jackson’s work when he was alive, the pop star was fascinated by 50 Cent. He was particularly interested the rapper’s colorful life history–the stories of shooters trying and failing to kill him, and the gossipy coverage of his private affairs by the hip-hop press. “Michael wanted 50 Cent on a record with him,” Riley says.

Riley says that Jackson reached out to 50 Cent about working together. After Jackson’s passing, the hip-hop star recorded the rap that appears on “Monster.” 50 Cent tweeted “michael reached out to me to do this song before he passed it going to be the biggest thing ever. hes the one we got our idea from.

Fergie Admits She's Still Clueless About Business Side Of Recording Industry After 26 Years

The recording industry can be treacherous for new artists. Record labels and crooked managers often prey on the uniformed. However, if they are lucky enough to survive those initial years in the business and get out of bad contracts - artists generally gain a lot of valuable knowledge, and should fare much better in future deals.

Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas is an exception to that rule. Although we haven't heard about her having to deal with bad contracts yet. The singer admits that after 26 years, she's learned next to nothing about the business side of the industry. Instead she relies on her parents, lawyers and a therapist to insure she doesn't get taken advantage of.

"Well, I'm still learning about the music business because it's changing. There are all these different things coming up because of technology. It was a different world back then; it was very straight and simple: You got a record deal, you made an album, you got new fans. Now it's all these 360 deals and all these different... You know what? The business side of it? That's not my cup of tea. Will.I.Am's great at it. He thrives on it. It's just not my personality. I want to get straight to the art. The other part of it? I have my business team explain it to me. I actually have conference calls where I have my mom and dad on the phone, my accountant, my lawyer... Once in a while, I even have my therapist on these calls," she told Billboard

I'm not kidding. Because there's so much smoke... I'm very cut to the chase; that's my personality. I don't like to speak in circles. So when people do that I'm trying to find out, "OK, guys, what are we really talking about here?" So my therapist listens in. Because it's very important to make informed decisions. I can be very impulsive, which is great as an artist but not as a businesswoman. So I have to slow down and surround myself with a great support team. So that's what I've learned, that I need to surround myself with a team that can help me. It's part of knowing that you don't know it all."

Hopefully Fergie's people are looking out for her best interests. I'd hate to hear about her being broke in the future because of mismanagement.

Has the phone call between you and Young Jeezy take place yet?

Nah. That hasn’t happened. It’s nothing I’m looking forward to.

You guys have worked together before. It seemed the camaraderie between you two was genuine. The last summer he put out his own “B.M.F.” freestyle, but told me personally it wasn’t abbot you. Did you feel disrespected?

I’m not sure what was going on. [the freestyle] was most definitely [disrespectful], whatever it was. Then the explanations seemed sideways, less than G.

What’s more surprising; a diss records by somebody you were cool with or by somebody you don’t know?’

It’s most definitely when we always touching distance from each other. I’m right here. It’s not like I’m in Miami and you in New York. We see each other. That’s the only issue I had. It was sideways. So i made a record, “Summer’s Mine” just to [let him know], if we gonna play that sport, let’s put it on the table like men. If it was just a freestyle that the world took the wrong way, leave it alone. That’s how I took it.

An added twist is that you and Jeezy are both on Def Jam. Did you ever get a call from L.A Reid saying “Hey, let’s not let this get out of hand?”

Nah. I don’t accept those kinda calls. I think they know that would have been an exercise in futility. Whatever it’s gonna be, it’s gonna be. If we gonna get money, we gonna get money. If it’s pressure, just put it on the table. I feel no way. I had nothing but love for the homie, but if me getting money in the streets or making music offended you, I can’t help that.

Your third hit single this year was “Aston Martin Music” featuring Drake and Chrisette Michele. It earned a bit of controversy after you left the Soul Train Awards without performing the record. Chrisette got upset, even tweeting “If this is the way of Hip-Hop is then I denounce it.” What Happened?

Basically, I had an opportunity to perform “Aston Martin Music,” which Def Jam put together. The day before the awards I went there for rehearsal…it was a lot of things going on onstage and for the first time, me being at an award show I had no input. It was a little uncomfortable. I just came from the BET Hip-Hop Awards [where I invited] MC Hammer down to the pyro stage. As a result, we were voted the number one performance at the awards. I wouldn’t risk that for a three-minute opportunity I’m not comfortable with.

The word coming from the show was they you were upset Eminem beat you in the Song Of the Year category and you stormed out.

Not at all. I’ve been going to award shows for a long time and I’ve never had a problem with who won. I’m happy I’m recognized. We were in the trailer, going over these particular [performance] issues [with the sows producer]. Out of respect, we came back out there to give them a reaction to the nomination. They gave the award to Eminem. I applauded. Big Record. That wasn’t the issue. Like I said, the things we requested weren’t met. It had nothing to do with Chrisette Michele. It may have had to do with me not knowing the other 50 people that were onstage at [rehearsal] and we doing my record.

Have you talked to Chrisette?

I haven’t spoken to Chrisette Michele or her team. but I didn’t speak to her to [invite her to] the show either. It was something maybe the label set up. [But] her choice of words were ugly. Denouncing Hip-Hop, that ain’t cool. Using ugly words could give off the wrong impression. That could make your hat look ugly to me now. That could make your haircut look ugly to me now. Hopefully if we win a Grammy, she’ll come out and accept it withy our boy. Give me a kiss on the cheek.

Stars often have to accept that with fame comes demands by fans and the media to be accessible. Even when they just want to be left alone.

Comedian and actor Mike Epps faced such a dilemma over the weekend, when he was trying to have a romantic dinner with his wife at the Key Club in Detroit.

TMZ is reporting that Epps got fed up with a photographer who wouldn't leave him alone. After a while Epps decided the time for talking was over with, and started scrapping with the unwanted troublemaker right in the middle of the restaurant.

Of course, it was all caught on tape by someones camera phone. The footage isn't that great, but at one point you can see Epps letting his fists fly.

"It was a private celebration for my wife's birthday. I asked the photographer numerous times not to film, but he refused to let up. I then attempted to retrieve the tape from the camera," Epps told TMZ.

Monica Reveals Christmas Album Plans

Monica’s fans won’t be getting any holiday music from her this year, but good things come to those who wait. The recent two-time Grammy nominee is looking to release an entire album of seasonal tunes in the future.

The R&B songstress was planning to record a Christmas song this year, but timing became an issue. “We were working on it and we found out that we did it too late for iTunes, and for that reason it didn’t work,” she said

But she has a bigger gift in store for her fans. “Maybe after the next album, I’ll do a full Christmas album,” she says. “I’m looking forward to something like that, something that’s kinda mixed with a little bit of Christian inspirational things with some of the older songs that we all know.”

In order to make a fall release, she would have to begin recording in the summer. “I’ll have to start about five months out. It’ll be ‘Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire’ in May or June,” she laughs.

Monica is currently in the studio with Polow Da Don working on the follow-up to this year’s Still Standing.

The head of Cash Money talks about Young Money's hustle, and how they got by without their biggest star.

There's no questioning Young Money's success this year. With Lil Wayne's Rebirth and I Am Not a Human Being, in addition to Drake's Thank Me Later and Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday being among rap's highest-selling releases, the collective has done extremely well.

In a recent interview with XXLMag, Cash Money founder and CEO Birdman spoke about the group's concerted effort. "Aww man, this is what we worked hard and put all of these years in for. It feels good; it’s beyond words. We look at it like this, next year we have to have more, so we have to work harder. This is just giving us different ways to motivate ourselves."

The former Big Tymer elaborated, explaining what it meant to accomplish all this with Young Money's number one attraction - Lil Wayne. "We had to just buckle down. Losin’ [Wayne], that was big, so we had to go and get another motivation and that was our motivation. We wanted— just when he came home, to show the young boy what we’ve accomplished. Everybody played their part, as a team. Everybody supported each other as a team. It really brought a lot of us closer. And with [Wayne] being home, we’re even closer.

"[Losing Wayne] was a gift and a curse. The curse is that young’n had to do the time; the gift is that we united up and everybody came to the table."

Nelly To Appear On Upcoming Episode of "90210"

The St. Lunatic is said to be appearing as himself on television's most famous zip code.

St. Louis, Missouri rapper Nelly just released his sixth studio album, 5.0 to a Top 10 debut on the charts. The multi-platinum veteran entertainer will take his new music to the set of CW show 90210. The '00s-era revival of the popular '80s and '90s Aaron Spelling teen drama will see the St. Lunatic playing himself in an upcoming episode, says Movieline.

Previously, Nelly has appeared on CSI: New York, and is remembered for a leading role in the 2005 remake of The Longest Yard.

No date has been released yet on when the 90210 episode will air.

Rick Ross Responds To Grammy Snub

Although Rick Ross received no Grammy nominations, the Miami rapper holds no ill will towards the RIAA.

The rapper, whose Teflon Don hit gold sales, told MTV News that he's pleased with the accomplishments this year and congratulated his peers.

"Everybody that was nominated this year for the Grammys, I congratulate them, and I feel like everyone deserve it," Ross said. "As far as me, I feel like it's just something else for me to work towards, you know, if that's something that I'm really, really trying to achieve."

He continued, "Other than that, I had a wonderful year and I really couldn't ask for no more."

Ross hit the streets in a major way with big records like "B.M.F." and "MC Hammer" along with commercial songs such as "Aston Martin Music." He's also received numerous other artistic accolades.

Public Enemy's Terminator X Resurfaces With New Album

Public Enemy's former DJ Terminator X is planning a formal re-entry into the Hip-Hop game with longtime collaborator, Andreaus 13 and a variety of newcomers.

As a DJ for Public Enemy, Terminator X appeared the group's most important releases, including Yo! Bum Rush The Show, It Takes A Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back and Fear of A Black Planet.

In 1991, Terminator X dropped his first solo album, Valley of the Jeep Beats which contained the album's hit single "Buck Whylin'" featuring Chuck D. and Sister Souljah and "The Blues", which featured Andreaus 13 as a guest artist.

Terminator X left Public Enemy in 1991.

Now, Terminator X is coming out of retirement in the South and releasing Judgement Day, a tribute to the five elements of Hip-Hop, which include B-Boying, Graffiti, rapping, DJ'ing and Knowledge.

"Andreaus 13 and Terminator have watched the Music industry corporate executive’s destroy these sacred elements that Hip Hop and Rap were developed on," a representative for Terminator X said in a statement. "Just like they destroyed the world’s economy on wall street! Judgment Day is here to counter the chaos and mayhem that the current state of Hip Hop has caused to besiege our community."

The album features production by Terminator X, Andreaus 13, Nicky Wattz, Scriptures', Ramega, Jamal Malik and various sons of Public Enemy members.

Judgement Day is slated to land in stores in 2011.

Jay-Z Calls Out President Bush Over Kanye West Flap

 Hip-Hop star Jay-Z called out former President George Bush Jr. in a new interview with the Associated Press about his new book, Decoded.

In a new interview with the AP's Nekesa Mumbi Moody, Jay-Z commented on Kanye West's infamous statement that "George Bush doesn't care about black people" during a live, nationwide telethon for Hurricane Katrina survivors in 2005.

West called out George Bush Jr. for his slow reaction to the crisis, which obliterated the city of New Orleans in what has been deemed America's worst natural disaster in the history of the country.

Recently, Kanye West backed away from the comments, after George Bush Jr. labeled the incident the lowest point in his administration in his new book Decision Points.

That didn't sit well with Jay-Z, who dismissed George Bush's comments during the interview and stood by Kanye West's original assessment.

"I 100 percent agreed with the comments that he made, because again ... it felt like it was being done to black people," Jay-Z told the Associated Press. "Like all you saw on the news was black people with help signs and all this stuff, and then you have this picture of the commander in chief, who we all rely on, just flying by."

Bush finally replied to West's infamous remarks during a promotional for Decision Points, which is the former Presidents memoirs that were released on November 9th.

"My record was strong I felt when it came to race relations and giving people a chance. And — it was a disgusting moment," President Bush told reporters.

Kanye West backed away from the comments when President Bush made it known that he didn't appreciate the stinging criticism, which helped spark a national debate over the Bush administration's reaction to Hurricane Katrina.

"I didn't have the grounds to call him a racist," an apologetic Kanye West said. "I believe that in a situation of high emotion like that we as human beings don't always choose the right words."

But Jay-Z, who helped introduce Kanye West to the world via Roc-A-Fella Records, shot down the former Commander-in-Chief, for allowing the rapper's original comments to irk him to that level.

"Just the fact that he thinks that the worst thing that happened to him is Kanye saying something about him. Like, what? That alone shows you where his mind is. Are you kidding me?" Jay-Z said.

This sickening picture above shows the result of a drink-crazed attack by a boy of 16.

Steven Cloak ended up with half his forehead missing after he was punched to the ground and booted in the skull.

Attacker Jack Hobbs, drunk on sambuca and beer, claimed his victim bumped into him outside a takeaway then "looked at him".

Steven, 26, was left with massive head and brain injuries.

Surgeons were forced to remove a huge piece of forehead to treat the damage.

Pictures taken after the op were so shocking a judge ruled they would prejudice Hobbs' trial.

But Steven's family took their own and have now released them to show how drunken violence ruins lives. Steven, who had a titanium plate fitted to rebuild his head, is recovering after the attack in Bideford, North Devon.

Hobbs, now 17, faces up to ten years' detention after being convicted of grievous bodily harm. An Exeter Crown Court judge lifted a ban on identifying the yob because of his age as he remanded him in custody for pre-sentence reports.

But prosecutor David Evans said: "The truth is he was fired up on drink and playing the hardman."

The Oakland legend checks in for digital dope dealing for the second time this year.

On December 14, Oakland, California emcee Too Short will release an EP, Respect The Pimpin'. This will be the Rap icon's second album in 2010, after April's digital release Still Blowin'. The six-song EP will feature Snoop Dogg, Jazze Pha as well as fellow veteran emcee Richie Rich.

This will also release digitally, through Empire. Throughout the year, Short has appeared on popular albums from Fat Joe and Big Boi.

Kurtis Blow Responds To Marijuana Citation

After various news outlets falsely reported he was arrested, Kurtis Blow responds via Twitter, "Not True. Isn't weed legal in California?"

TMZ.com reports that Kurtis Blow was cited for having marijuana on his person while passing through a TSA body scanner at LAX. Law enforcement officials report the scanner found an anomaly in his pants, which led to a required patdown revealing the marijuana. Blow, whose real name is Kurtis Combs, was given a ticket and allowed to continue traveling, because he had less than an ounce on him.

The scanners have made headlines due to many traveler’s concern that they, and the associated TSA patdowns, are an invasion of privacy. However Kurtis Blow is the first person of any notoriety to be caught by the scanners with any contraband.

Kurtis Blow is most known for being the first person with a certified, gold-selling Rap single—1980’s “The Breaks.” While Blow wasn’t signed to Def Jam, Russell Simmons served as his manager and was an integral part of getting him signed to Mercury and attaining mainstream success. Kurtis Blow currently hosts weeknights on the “Backspin/43” classic Rap show on Sirius Satellite Radio.

Kurtis Blow took to his Twitter feed to emphasize that he was not arressted. He pointed out that marijuana is legal in California and said “TMZ is bugging.” California is one of a handful of states that allows legal use of marijuana for medicinal purposes. On September 30, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a law which reduces possession of an ounce or less of pot from a misdemeanor to an infraction with a maximum punishment of a $100 fine. As reported earlier, Kurtis Blow was found with less than an ounce of marijuana, and cited after officials confiscated his marijuana.

Wesley Snipes To Report To Jail Next Week

Wesley Snipes is scheduled to report to a federal correctional facility in Pennsylvania next week.


As previously reported Snipes was ordered to start serving a three-year prison sentence last Friday.
Snipes was found guilty for failing to file income tax returns by a federal judge who rejected the actor's petition for a new trial.

"The defendant Snipes had a fair trial ... The time has come for the judgment to be enforced," U.S. District Judge Terrell Hodges said in his ruling.

The judge revoked bail for the 48-year-old actor and ordered him to report to prison.
He must report to the Federal Correctional Institution McKean in Lewis Run, Pa., by noon on December 9th.

In a interview with Mikey T the Movie Star, Yung Berg claims that the super producer jacked the beat from a demo tape that he created years ago.

“I played Rodney [Jerkins} a lot of my records and the “Jesus Walks” beat is the same song I recorded just maybe the bass is amped up a little bit,” Yung Berg recalled. “I remember when I played [Rodney] the track and he fell asleep to Jesus Walks and they used it.”

Berg also claims that his version of “Jesus walks wasn't just a hot beat, it had a great flow.
“I was on my Iceberg flow, on some crazy sh*t,” Yung Berg continued. “Like here I am going hard on my demo at 16-years-old and they take it and win a Grammy, congrats because it's all a part of my story.”

Prayer Vigil Held For Ailing Aretha Franklin

Fans in Detroit have gathered told a candle light vigil and prayer for Legendary Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin.

According to published reports, the community gathered to pray for the ailing singer, who is scheduled to undergo an undisclosed medical procedure.

The vigil, which was held in downtown Detroit on December 1, brought everyone out including City Councilwoman JoAnn Watson to pray for Franklin.

Although absent from the actual vigil, Franklin did send her love to her fans letting them know she appreciated them and that “all prayers are good.”

Last month, the 68-year-old singer announced she was canceling all concert dates and personal appearances through May on the orders of her doctors.

Franklin is scheduled to undergo the procedure on [December 2],

In a recent interview with Im Not A Rappa T.V., Eve spoke on the leading female rapper in the industry while discussing her own comeback.

"I think she's dope, honestly," Eve said in an interview. "A lot of people, especially since I'm a female, you know how it is with females, a lot of people are like, 'Do you like her?, and at the end of the day, her music is not for every certain type of female. She caters, I think, to one type of female but at the same time, she's the only person representing for real right now, for females."

She continued to speak on why female rappers need to bond, and speaks on making her comeback.

"So, we need that. We need that bond. There's too much testosterone in the game. We gotta get rid of these dudes, it's like, way too many guys. That's why I'm happy. I'm about to come back out and Trina's on my upcoming record as well. You know what I mean, we need that female influence so I think she's doing her thing. God bless her. I think it's good."

Maino Arrested, Released For Driving With Suspended License

The New York Post reports that the Atlantic Records rapper was pulled over near the Rockefeller Center after refusing officers' directions to keep driving on Sixth Avenue, and made a turn onto 53rd Street.

The Brooklyn emcee was given a desk appearance ticket, and was released.

Lupe Fiasco Remembers Frustration With Atlantic, Discusses Apathy Towards 'Lasers'

Lupe says his battle with Atlantic Records made him apathetic about releasing the album, even now. 

If ever there was a rapper who knew the power struggle between an artist and his label home, Lupe Fiasco is it. His public battle with Atlantic Records to release his album Lasers raised greater questions about consumer behavior, artists' lack of control, and the fan's ability to sway the decisions of record labels. Lupe sat down with Rubyhornet.com to explain his frustration with Atlantic while negotiating the release of his album.

"At one point in the process, it was really like the phone calls to the label wasn't even about Lasers [anymore]. It was like, 'Yo, we want out. Like, what do we need to do the album? Do you want money? Do you want rights to the rest of my songs for the rest of my life?' For a while it [seemed] like, this album wasn't coming out."

And pessimism over whether the album would come out influenced his work, Lupe said. He admitted that his interest in Lasers began to wane as time passed.

"It took so long that I started to get into other projects. And [people would ask] 'What about Lasers?' And I'd be like, 'I don't know, ask [the label].' So I would lie if I said my heart was 100% in Lasers like that, during the creative process and even now. Because I know the pain that went into it. But when you listen to the album, you won't hear that [pain]. You won't feel that...But at the same time it's matched with a certain level of excitement and happiness getting past that, getting it out."

If anything positive came out of this experience, it is surely Lupe's new relationship with Atlantic.

"It'll change the way they do business with me. But I'm just a small guy with a very big mouth. With fans with a very big mouth. And I carry a lot of weight."

Curren$y Says He's Open To A Collaboration With Lil Wayne

Curren$y talks possible collaborations with Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifa during an episode of 'Talking Fly.'

In an interview with CreativeControl.TV’s Talking Fly, New Orleans rapper Curren$y revealed that he would be up for a collaboration with Young Money founder Lil Wayne. Curren$y shared that news when asked if working with Mack Maine would leave the “door open” for a collab with Wayne.

“Mack [Maine] is my homie. You know what I’m saying? We all from New Orleans,” Curren$y explained. “I don’t give a fuck at this point. I’m not about to say no crazy shit. Mack is my homeboy and that’s who I speak to. I’ve always spoke to him through it all, but I ain’t gonna [see] the door close on nothing. We hustling. It’s all good man.”

Curren$y was a little more enthusiastic when asked about recording with fellow rapper Wiz Khalifa.

“That could happen in 15 minutes,” said Curren$y when asked about doing a collaboration with Wiz Khalifa. “That could happen in about 15 minutes. We might put together a whole little collection…We might put something on the shelf.”

For four years Curren$y was signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money, but eventually left the label in 2007 when he saw that his music career was at a stand still.

Redman Explains "Reggie" And Future Collaboration Hopes

Looking to give fans "something unexpected," Red tells Spin about President Obama-inspired rhymes and his hopes to get Jamiroquai on a track.

Since making his debut on EPMD’s Business As Usual in 1990, Redman has worked with the likes of 2Pac, De La Soul, Scarface and of course, Method Man. Now, as he approaches the age of 40, Red says his upcoming Reggie album gives him the opportunity to touch on other topics besides blunts and brew, and he’s also got his eye on some unexpected collaborations.

“I’ve got a song called ‘Mic, Lights, Camera, Action,’ Red told William Goodman, in an interview with Spin magazine. “In the second verse I'm picturing myself protecting President Obama. What can we do to protect our first black president? What can we do so he doesn't become a statistic, like Martin Luther King Jr.?”

In other recent interviews, Red has referred to the project as a Reggie Noble album and not a Redman album. According to Redman, the distinction provides a forum to showcase “something unexpected.” In November, Red told Tim Westwood the album wouldn’t include any skits or “Soopaman Luva” sequels. Red’s wishlist of collaborators for the next Redman and Method Man album also reflects his desire to change things up.

“I want to do something way out there that shows the world that Red and Meth ain’t going nowhere,” he added. “I want to collaborate with some different artists, too...I’ve always wanted to work with Jamiroquai. For this album I would want [R&B crooner] Ryan Leslie, too. Red and Meth and Ryan Leslie. That’s something out of the ordinary.”
