Woodbridge, VA rap artist PHZ-Sicks (pronounced ‘physics’) presents The Moment, his new album featuring Detroit rapper/singer Scolla, singer Alison Carney, DMV rapper Lyriciss and fellow Triple S crew member Seanny Greggs as well as production from Stompboxx Music, Best Kept Secret, Epik the Dawn, Kriss Liss and Kajmir Royale. The album's release comes on the heels of the John Ledbetter-directed music video for "Coming Down" (click to watch) as well as the single releases of "The Love Scene III" (click to listen) and "Black Women" (click to listen). PHZ was a 2011 DMV Best VA Male Rap Artist nominee and has opened for Wale, J. Cole and more. Jay Z and Beyoncé Pledge to Go Vegan

Jay just announced via a note on Life & Times that he and Beyonce were going vegan.

The idea comes from the 22 Days Challenge, an initiative started by exercise physiologist (and friend of Jay Z) Marco Borges.
Jay explains, "Any professional vegans out there that have any great food spots please help out! Please ha."

They just began the challenge today, December 3, one day before Jay's 44th birthday.

On December 3rd, one day before my 44th birthday I will embark on a 22 Days challenge to go completely vegan, or as I prefer to call it, plant-based!! This all began a few months back when a good friend and vegan challenged me to embrace a “plant-based breakfast” everyday. It was surprisingly easier on me than I thought…

Why now? There’s something spiritual to me about it being my 44th birthday and the serendipity behind the number of days in this challenge; 22 (2+2=4) coupled with the fact that the challenge ends on Christmas day…It just feels right!

So you can call it a spiritual and physical cleanse. I will post my progress… Any professional vegans out there that have any great food spots please help out! Please ha. I don’t know what happens after Christmas. A semi-vegan, a full plant-based diet? Or just a spiritual and physical challenge? We’ll see…

Gucci Mane Facing Possible 20-Year Prison Sentence & $500K Fine After Being Indicted On Federal Gun Charges. Gets Dropped From Atlantic Records

Gucci Mane has been indicted on two federal charges of being a felon in possession of a gun. The U.S. Attorneys Office for the Northern District of Georgia alleges Gucci, real name Radric Davis, brandished a handgun and threatened police on two occasions in September.



The charges were handed down Tuesday (December 3). Federal prosecutors released a press statement detailing the incidents that led to the indictment.




"On September 12, 2013, Davis, who was a felon at the time, was found in possession of a firearm. Then, just two days later, on September 14th, he again possessed a firearm different from the earlier gun. On both occasions, Davis displayed the loaded firearm, acted erratically, and made threats to individuals, including police and his attorney."


Atlantic Records has reportedly dropped the 1017 Brick Squad CEO as well.



Each charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm carries a maximum sentence of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.



"This is how people get hurt, and we are committed to ensuring that convicted felons not have guns," U.S. Attorney Sally Quillian Yates said in a press release.



As  previously reported, the rapper was ordered to surrender his 40 caliber Glock, 45 caliber Taurus and ammunition.



Gucci has been arrested at least once a year since 2009 on various charges ranging from assault to possession of illegal drugs.



Atlanta Police Chief George Turner said in a statement, "We cannot tolerate convicted felons ignoring the law by carrying firearms and endangering our citizens."

Adidas Confirms Deal With Kanye West, Issues Press Release

For the last couple of weeks Kanye West has detailed his plans to become the "2Pac of product." Those lofty goals took a step forward today as Adidas confirmed their deal with West via a press release.


“For 2014, we welcome to the Adidas family one of the most influential cultural icons of this generation, Kanye West. Well known for breaking boundaries across music, film and design and partnering with our history in street wear culture and leading innovations in sport, we look forward to creating a new chapter. Details to follow.”



This deal was made possible because of business and creative differences with Nike.The company also dragged their feet and failed to give the G.O.O.D. Music CEO a release date for the Air Yeezy 2 sneakers he designed.




Nike made a late push to keep Kanye with the company, but by then it was too late.

Drake Previews New Aaliyah Collaboration Via Instagram [Video]

  

In 2012 we got confirmation that Drake would be producing a posthumous album by late singer Aaliyah. The only song that has been released from the project so far is entitled"Enough Said," which dropped last year and got a mixed reaction from fans and critics.

During a September 2013 interview, Drake seemed to indicate he may not be involved with the project any longer.

“I don’t know. I think the press got out of hand and they maybe had a different vision for it or something,” he told Elliot Wilson at the time. “It was sounding great to me. Whatever they end up doing with it, I wish them the best of luck.”

Early this morning however, the Toronto rapper posted a video on his Instagram account with a snippet of a new Aaliyah song.

Is he still producing the album? I guess we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime check out the clip below.

Lindsay Lohan Sues The Makers Of 'Grand Theft Auto V' For Using Her Image Without Permission.[Video]

Lindsay Lohan is looking for a big payday from the makers of the video game Grand Theft Auto V. The actress claims her image was used without her permission, according to TMZ.

The character in question is named Lacey Jonas in the game. In one mission she needs help dodging the paparazzi because she doesn't have make up on and believes she's too fat to have her photo taken.

I think it's going to be hard to prove that the character is based on Lindsay because that description could fit a lot of famous actresses and models. Nevertheless, Lohan has her lawyers on the case.

This will be the second lawsuit filed against he popular game. In October Daz Dillinger of Tha Dogg Pound sued Take-Two Interactive Software and Rockstar Games for using his songs "C-Walk" and "Nothin' But the Cavi Hit" without his permission.

Eminem threw a shot at Asher Roth on the song "A$hole" off of The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Slim was firing back for what he perceived as a diss on Asher's song "As I Em."


Asher told Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds that his lyrics weren't meant to be disrespectful. His intentions were to clear up the comparisons between himself and Slim.



"For me I just wanted to talk about how I was my own person. That's really all it was,"Asher said. "[I was] talking about when I was first introduced to Em's music when I was young in the 7th grade. Kind of talking about that relationship, being inspired by an emcee and listening to that music and having it be influential. That was it. I think Em was just being Em."



Don't expect any reply songs from Asher because he wasn't offended by the track.



"It's cool man. I thought it was pretty amazing, I'm not gonna lie. I didn't take any personal [offense]," Roth explained. "There's nothing really there. I've never met Em. I don't know him personally."

Chris Brown Wanted To Bring Weed Into Anger Management Rehab Facility

Chris Brown was unable to bring weed into his anger management rehab facility and he wasn't happy about it.



TMZ reports that the singer told medical staff that marijuana had been prescribed by a doctor to treat his depression. He said smoking herb keeps him calm, but personnel at the facility rejected his request.







Chris was ordered by a judge to spend 90-days in an L.A. County facility at a probation progress hearing last week. He had previously checked himself into an anger management facility voluntarily after he was charged with punching a Washington, D.C. man in the face. However, his stay only lasted two weeks because he was kicked out after throwing a rock through his mother's car window.

Preparing For War? Police Find Stockpile Of Guns While Searching George Zimmerman's Home [Pic]

George Zimmerman either really loves guns or he's been preparing for something ominous. As previously reported, the former neighborhood watchman who was acquitted in the murder trial of 17-year old Trayvon Martin, was arrested last week after allegedly pointing a shotgun in the face of his girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe.








The 30-year old was charged with battery, criminal mischief and felony aggravated assault with a weapon in the case. He was released the day after his arrest after posting $9000bail.




TMZ reports that a subsequent search of the home Zimmerman shared with Scheibe turned up a stockpile of weapons belonging to him (see pic above).




Police found an AR-15 assault rifle, 3 handguns, a pocket knife and a Kel-Tec shotgun, the same one he's accused of pointing at Scheibe. No word on if all of the guns were obtained legally.


Scheibe kicked him out of her home after last week's incident and at this point it's not known where Zimmerman is living.

This was one of the best West interviews ever because Charlamagne challenges the rapper throughout instead of letting him go on a continuous rant.

New Orleans emcee Voice Monet presents the Go'Head Media-directed music video for "Carts b4 Horses (Rob)", her new single produced by Belgian DMC champion DJ Grazzhoppa. The video was conceptualized, shot and edited all in the space of two days as part of the 48Hour Music Video Project Challenge which was recently held in New Orleans. Voice's debut album Gumbo dropped in 2006. "NOLA Redux" featuring Malkovich made the top of Gilles Peterson's BBC World Wide Best Hip-Hop of 2009 list. She was teaching classfuls of New Orleans youth how to rap as an official Teaching Artist In Residence when Hope & Sorrow, the 2007 Decon/Atmospheriques release from celebrated French producer Wax Tailor, was certified silver. Between her solo releases and her collaborations with BBE, Ninja Tune, Canada's Public Transit Recordings, UK's Twisted Funk Records and Tailor, over a quarter of a million records worldwide bear Voice's name. "Sometimes my muse comes in the form of a man, and he just wants me to... rap!" says Voice about the song. "In this particular song I have chosen to call him 'Rob', but that inspiration comes in many forms and is expressed through several mediums." Voice is gearing up to release her EP Black Maria in 2014 through her production company Go'Head Media.

Chief Keef Ordered To Pay $25K Lump Sum + $2,500 A Month To New Baby Mama

Chief Keef will have to double his grind now that he has another mouth to feed. The 18-year old Chicago rapper has been positively proven to be the father of a 10-month old baby by a young woman by the name of Erica Early.



Keef's lawyer confirmed to TMZ that a DNA test shows there is 99.9% chance his client is the father. He's been ordered to pay a lump sum of $25,000 back pay, plus $2,500 a month in child support moving forward.







The rapper just cut a check for $11,000 last month to reduce the $20,900 sum he was behind in child support to the mother of his first child. He was ordered by a Cook County, Illinois judge on October 21 to either pay up or head back to jail.

Chief Keef found out he had a pop superstar fan while watching the 2013 American Music Awards Sunday (November 24).



During a red carpet interview with E! News, Lady Gaga, revealed that she is a big fan of the "I Don't Like" rapper.



“I’ve been listening to a lot of Chief Keef, so I’m kinda into Chicago music right now,”Gaga said. “I was living there for a while, so we’ve been listening to a lot of his records. I’m a big fan.”







Keef responded almost immediately via his Twitter account.

18-year-old New York rapper Orrin Campbell presents the Colin Campbell-directed music video for "Warp", the Motel XXX-produced single from Orrin's forthcoming album Nocturnal. Orrin named his first release The Sean Mulligan Mixtape, after his girlfriend's little brother who inspired him to take rap seriously after hearing him freestyle for fun. His early material was, in his words, “Like boom bap rap. Like Brooklyn rap.” Moving to the suburbs changed all that. “I feel like me being in the suburbs, and being bored, helped me to experiment,” he explains, “and that’s kinda how I found this sound I have now.” Of the "Warp" video he says it was shot "in a penthouse overlooking New York City on 12th Ave looking uptown. I wanted to capture the essence of where I currently reside versus where I made the song and Nocturnal. The video is a trip into how I see things. The female which I describe in the song is a virgin whom never smokes or drinks, I wanted to make a very paradoxical video that was very drug-induced, representing myself but also contradicting the values and ideas of said female. She wears a sheep/lamb mask to symbolize purity. The female haunts this creepy place we would call my mind (location of the shoot) and that is what the video symbolizes. At the end we snippet the song "Blue Dreams" as a teaser for the fans." Nocturnal drops December 7.
