Saigon Inks Deal With Suburban Noize Records, Set To Drop EP This Week
It's been a trying run in the music biz for rapper Saigon. At one point, Sai was one of the most promising, young New York rappers ... and with super producer Just Blaze backing him, it seemed as though success wasn't too far away.
However, his long-awaited debut, The Greatest Story Never Told, never dropped ... and he's been battling Atlantic Records for several years now to be released from his contract.
Now, it looks like the label disputes are finally behind him. According to a recent Facebook update, Saigon has inked a deal with indie label, Suburban Noize Records, where he plans to release his long-awaited album.
But first, he'll be dropped an EP later this week to give fans something that's been lacking from his as of late -- new music.
"The Full Length LP is coming February but I cant make my Nation wait that long," the rapper wrote last week. "I haven't put out any music for a whole year and that was Warning Shots 2 which was super subpar for ME... It was a nice check though. New EP coming NEXT WEEK, The Yardfather's Prologue is the tentative title."
At press time, it was unclear what material and/or how many tracks would appear on the new EP.
Earlier this year, Saigon admitted that he was still signed to Atlantic, but said they were actively working to get the split done.
Stay tuned...
