Canadian Rapper DY Missing, Reports Family

Family, friends and label mates look for answers regarding the disappearance of a young Canadian artist.

Canadian rapper DY, real name Forrest Schab, has been reported missing by his family.

"We haven't heard from Forrest since August. We are extremely worried about him. If anyone has information of his whereabouts, please help us by contacting the Toronto police department," said the Schab family said in a statement , according to cbc.ca.

Schab, 26, was last seen in Toronto in August, shortly after having completed work on a new single and music video. He indicated plans to visit Mexico in mid-August, but it is unclear if he left the country.
Schab's last communication was a birthday wish to an acquaintance on Twitter and Facebook in early September.

"DY is such a great young talent. All of the artists and staff at CP Records have him and his family in our prayers," said Tony Sal, CEO of Schab's music label CP Records.

Labelmates Belly and Danny Fernandes, took to Twitter on Friday (Nov. 19) to spread the news.
"Please #prayforDY.. Nobody has heard from him in months.. Please pray for his safe return," R&B singer Fernandes posted. Belly retweeted a link to a missive from CP Records management regarding Schab's disappearance.

Prior to his disappearance, Schab was working on the follow-up to his 2009 song "Passenger," titled "That's My Spot," in addition to a debut album.

  1. The thing I dont get is how did CP not notice him missing? I'm guessing they invested a bit of $$ in him, had him in the studio.. Kind of slow response here. In a music scene in any city, artists are seen and stuff, I think it's weird no one noticed him gone till now.
