Drake Addresses Speculation Of J. Cole Rivalry, Joins Jay-Z And Others For FUSE Show

Drake touches on what it will be like going on tour with J. Cole, who he says he's never really gotten acquainted with.

Comparisons between rappers J. Cole and Drake have been plentiful both on the Internet and among music fans. With top of the lot co-signs and burgeoning lyrical talent, it is only natural that parallels be made between the two emcees. Drake recently recorded a track called "In the Morning," for Cole's newest mixtape Friday Night Lights, and told MTV's Sway that enmity between the two of them is simply a figment of the public's imagination.

"Me and [Cole] are probably given many opportunities to try and "out-rap" each other and all that, but ["In the Morning"] is a great record because it's not about entertaining the "who's better" debate that I'm sure everyone else is engaged in," said Drake. "He's actually my friend. That's my dog. So we just wanted to do a record that had nothing to do with flexing muscle, [but something] just for the women."

Drake and J. Cole will team up for a European tour in January. Drake told MTV that he hasn't gotten a chance to get to know Cole yet, but that they will probably engage in some freestyle sessions while on tour.

"I see Cole at like radio shows when he's about to go on or I'm about to go on. But on the tour, I think there'll be plenty of us just spitting."

Before the tour, however, Drake will be appearing in a televised concert put on by Fuse. The event is called Fuse Presents: Drake Live From Radio City Music Hall, and will include appearances from several top artists like Jay-Z, Swizz Beatz, Fabolous, Trey Songz, and others.

Prior to the airing, Fuse will broadcast an entire day of Drake content, including Loaded: Drake.
