Young Money Rapper Cory Gunz to Star in MTV Docu-Series
Following his standout appearance on Lil Wayne’s Carter IV single “6 Foot 7 Foot,” Cory Gunz is ready to show the world what he’s made of. The up-and-coming rapper is set to star in a six-part series on MTV titled “Son of a Gun,” with Nick Cannon executive producing the project.
The docu-series will focus on Gunz’ struggle to succeed in the rap game, following his day-to-day happenings and detailing tough decisions he’s had to make. “Son of a Gun” will also expose his relationship with his father-manager Peter Gunz, best known for his ’90s hit “Déjà Vu (Uptown Baby).”
“Cory’s story is inspiring, one that boldly paints the many trials and tribulations he’s had to endure in pursuit of his dreams,” said Cannon, who also appears in the documentary. “I’m grateful for the access that Cory and Peter allowed us to have in order to create a series that we feel will really resonate with MTV viewers.”
“Son of a Gun” premieres on Thursday, April 28, at 11 p.m. EST
