Singer/Actress Jennifer Lopez and Rapper Drake are the latest voice additions to the forthcoming animated film “Ice Age: Continental Drift.” Lopez and actor Jeremy Renner will join new voice cast members Keke Palmer, rapper Drake, Wanda Sykes and Aziz Ansari. The new additions was announced on Tuesday (April 26) during aFox presentation, during which the studio met potential promotional partners, licensees and retail partners.
Lopez will voice for character Shira, a saber-toothed who melts the heart of Diego, while Renner will provide voice for Gutt, a self-styled master of the high seas.
The new arrivals will join the original voice cast, including Ray Romano who will once again provide voice for Manny, and Queen Latifah who will return as Ellie. In the meantime, Denis Leary will voice Diego, and John Leguizamo will be back to provide voice for Sid.
Steve Martino and Mike Thurmeier will direct “Ice Age: Continental Drift,” which will hit U.S. theaters in Summer 2012.
The first three “Ice Age” films have grossed nearly $2 billion at the worldwide box office. The franchise is becoming a year-round brand for Fox; a Christmas television special is being planned, along with a mobile game and online game.
