While in Atlanta promoting her new film Jump The Broom with co-star Pooch Hall, Meagan Good revealed that she's set to begin a new rap career.
Unbeknownst to many, the critically acclaimed actress recently formed a new singing group with her sister and their longtime friends named the “Hello Girls.”
The Hello Girls feature Good under the alter ego Cheeba, along with her sister LaMyia a.k.a. Bullet, Goldie and Kitty.
On Monday Meagan broke down the group at a press dinner at Strip Atlantic Station where the stars and the media converged for an intimate conversation.
According to Good, the Hello Girls are a mix of the Beastie Boys and Vanity 6.
She tells HHW,
“It's myself, my sister, my best friend since I was like 14 […]basically what we do is like punk rock music. It's a mix of Beastie Boys meets Vanity 6, we all rap…we all sing. It's just a lot of fun. We just opened for Cee-Lo in Arizona last month and it was great.“

The actress turned rapping songstress also added that the group will likely sign with a label in Europe--one who might keep an open mind to their music.“We're about halfway through the album so we're gonna start shopping…we're probably gonna go with a European label because I think they'll be a lot more open minded to receiving us. Then everybody over there [Europe] does what they do over here so we're probably gonna work that way.”Following the dinner, HHW spoke with starlet to ask her more details about her rap aspirations.
Good revealed to HHW exclusively that she hopes to work with Lil Wayne and Ludacris---two commercial rappers she says have fun with their music.
“Ludacris…Wayne. I like rappers who have a lot of commercial appeal. I like people who a lot of fun, who like fun stuff. I'm not really about the serious stuff, I like the lyrics and everything like that but I prefer more commercial rap. So even though I know Luda and Wayne are dope I enjoy more of what they do with their entertainment.”
