Diddy To Be Honored With ASCAP's Founder Award During Ceremony



Rap mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs will be honored next month during the 24th annual ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards.


Combs will receive the Founders Award during the annual song writers celebration, which will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, in Los Angeles California.

The rapper/mogul will join join a long list of recipients who have received ASCAP's Founders Award in the past, joining artists like Berry Gordy Jr., Dr. Dre, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel Smokey Robinson, Paul McCartney, Ashford & Simpson and others.

"To be recognized for my contributions to music by ASCAP, an organization that represents music creators, is a true honor," Diddy said in a statement on May 25th. "All I wanted to do was make people dance and hopefully inspire others to never settle for anything but their best."

In addition to the Founders Award, songwriters and publishers of ASCAP's best-known R&B songs of 2010 will be honored during the invitation-only ceremony, which will take place on June 24th.
