Fourteen months of marriage to Katy Perry will most likely net Russell Brand a huge payday of more than $20 million dollars.
Brand filed for divorce from the singer last Friday citing irreconcilable differences. According to the New York Daily News there was no pre-nup signed when they got married which means underCalifornia law the couple must split their earnings 50/50.
Brand's net worth is said to be in the $15 million dollar range, while Perry's is reported to be at least$45 million or more.
The two had been having trouble for months because the 36-year old Russell is a recovering heroin addict who hates the party scene and Katy, 27, can't get enough of it. They were often seen having heated arguments in public. According to TMZ, Perry asked Russell to file the divorce papers so she wouldn't upset her evangelical Christian parents.
The soon to be ex-couple have no kids.
