Arsenio Hall Checks Kanye West Over Use Of 'Slave' Word [VIDEO]

After the earlier success of Arsenio Hall's popular talk show, outsiders alleged that racism led to the host being fired. Kanye West recently cosigned the allegation, a rumor Hall has since debunked. Speaking with press over the weekend, Hall checked West on not only his incorrect assumption, but also wants the star to stop using the world “slave” as well. Hall, who has since revived his The Arsenio Hall Show late night program, was backstage at the GRAMMY nominations concert in Los Angeles last Friday (December 6). During a recent visit at Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club morning show, Yeezy made the quip that Hall was fired from his show. The Cleveland native spoke candidly about what really happened when he stepped away from the late night business, and says it wasn't what it seemed. “I just left my show, the white man didn't do nothing this time, bruh,” said Hall with a grin. “Save that for when the white man do do something. Don't muddy the waters of racism with my bullsh-t because it was not racism.” But it was Hall's critique of the world “slave,” something West expresses often, that really seemed to rankle the Cleveland native. “I hate the word ‘slave' used in songs. The f-ck outta here. Do you know what that word is? Do you know what that word is all about? Nobody can use ‘slave' in pop culture,” said Hall. He added, “If you're in the music business, you shouldn't f-ck with that word. Too serious an era. Too serious a problem in America. There is no one that's free to move around this country that should use the word ‘slave.' Do you know what it meant to slaves? - See more at: http://hiphopwired.com/2013/12/11/arsenio-hall-checks-kanye-west-slave-word/#sthash.B9kONrTW.dpuf
