Chris Brown Rolls The Dice & Rejects Plea Deal In D.C. Assault Case As Chaos Among Fans, Paparrazi & Security Breaks Out [Video]

Chris Brown arrived at a Washington, D.C. court today amid a mass of paparazzi, screaming fans, and what a My Fox D.C. reporter described as an "unprecedented" amount of security.

The singer made his way inside the courtroom and was described as relaxed and smiling. Once the judge entered things got serious.

Chris was in court to deal with an assault case. He's accused of punching a man in the face outside of the W Hotel last October.

A plea deal of misdemeanor assault offered today, but Chris' attorney Mark Geragosrejected the prosecution's deal. Another one of Brown's laywyers, Danny Onorato, said outside of court that the deal was rejected because Brown is not guilty.

Prosecutor's initially were unable to find any surveillance video of the alleged punch. Today it was revealed that they have obtained footage. Geragos has not yet seen it and may be waiting to find out what prosecutor's have on his client before deciding how to move forward.

The entire proceeding lasted about ten minutes. Another hearing is set for February 20th.

A lot is riding on this case because Chris' probation in California for his 2009 assault ofRihanna has already been revoked. Depending on the outcome of the D.C. case the singer could face jail time. Brown will appear in a California court on February 10, for a progress report on his current stint in anger management rehab.
