Deb Antney Issues Statement On The Death Of Her Son, Kayo Redd. Offers Possible Reasons For His Suicide

Deb Antney is dealing with the loss of her son, Kayo Redd, and struggling to make sense of the tragedy. As  previously reported, Kayo died of a self inflicted gunshot wound on Sunday (December 29, 2013).

Ms. Antney spoke with Dennis Bryan of HipHopEnquirer and gave some insight as to why it may have happened. Kayo was pursuing a rap career like his older brother, Waka Flocka Flame, but he had not yet reached the same level of success.

His mother told Dennis that Kayo was struggling with the fact that he couldn't help provide for her like Waka. He also had a problem with his eyesight. He was scheduled to have surgery in North Carolina and worried about his vision.

Deb issued a brief statement to HHE regarding her son's passing.

He had just left my house and he headed down the street and the next thing I knew was my son was dead. My son was a good kid and I never had any problems with him. I just don’t know why he would do such a thing.
