Suge Knight Says Kendrick Lamar & The Game Have Slave Record Deals "You're Thanking Somebody For Stabbing You In The Back" [Video]
Suge Knight was a guest on The Arsenio Hall Show. The former Death Row RecordsCEO explains what happened at the weed shop in California when he punched a man in the face.
Suge went on to discuss artists like D.O.C., The Game and Kendrick Lamar, who in his opinion got bad record deals.
"If you look at Interscope, the 2 guys from Compton, Game and Kendrick Lamar got 2 of the worst deals in the industry," Suge said. "And when you look at it, it's not so much the production company's fault. But what people don't realize is that Universal is the ship Then Interscope get their cut. Then Aftermath get their cut. Then G-Unit get their cut. Then another production company. Then [what was left] came to Game. Then with Kendrick Lamar it was the guy who put the deal together. In reality, it's more slavery now than ever. When you was a slave you was like, 'sh*t, it's bad.' But it's worse when somebody make you be a celebrity and put you on a status and you're like thanking a person for stabbing you in the back."
Basically, The Game wasn't making any money while signed to Interscope/Aftermath. He's out of the contract now so maybe he learned a lesson. As far as Kendrick, Suge didn't fully explain his deal. so it's hard to say where he stands contractually
