Questlove Says The Roots Finished Recording 'Undun.' Confirms D'Angelo's New Album Nearly Complete

It's been almost twelve years since D'Angelo released his last album. Legal troubles and rumored problems with drugs and alcohol have kept him from completing his long awaited third studio album, but that wait may soon be over according to good friend ?uestlove.

"He's in the home stretch right now," The Roots drummer told The Juice. "I know that Fred Wesley and the JB Horns just did a cut that Q-Tip did; I know he's doing his vocals right now."

Quest also revealed more details about Undun, The Roots' 13th studio album.

"We actually completed [the album] at five [o'clock] this morning, so it's officially done," ?uestlove said. "It's essentially a biographical narrative about Redford Stephens. Stephens [is] a composite of four or five people that we've known over the past few years from Philadelphia."

According to The Juice, Undun will tell the story of Redford's life in reverse. From his death to his birth.

Undun is due out December 6th on Def Jam Records.
