Parents Of Alleged Shooters Blame Waka Flocka's Security

The parents of the men charged with shooting at Waka Flocka's bus say his security should be charged.
Parents of the men recently charged with shooting at Waka Flocka Flame's tour bus say that the rapper's security guards should be charged.

Shots were fired by both sides, and the parents of the accused wonder why no one on the other side has been charged.

Antonio Stukes, one of the men charged in the exchange, was shot in the shoulder. "Just don't listen to one side of the story because there is always another side," said Stukes' mother, Antoinette, to the Charlotte Observer.

So why were none of Waka Flocka's crew charged? The parents believe it's because of their wealth and fame. "I don't understand why they are not locked up or being questioned for shooting at people," added Stukes.

After the shooting, Wacka Flocka Flame's publicist staid that the security team followed protocol, and that security cameras from a nearby store would back up the team's story.

Kanye West Booed In Chicago

Kanye West Booed In Chicago
The boo birds come out in Kanye's hometown.

Chicago may have had it with Kanye West's antics, as the emcee was booed by his beloved hometown on Thursday (February 24).

The United Center, home to NBA team the Chicago Bulls, was where the Def Jam Records superstar was booed when he was introduced to the crowd during the Bulls-Miami Heat game.

Tattletailzz.com speculates that Ye's recent Tweets about abortion were the source of the boos, but the emcee is no stranger to negative crowd response.

Most recently, the emcee was booed at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

He also received a similar treatment in 2008 at Bonnaroo for starting his set two hours late.

Producer Enlists Musicologist for Lawsuit Against Lil Wayne

Producer Enlists Musicologist for Lawsuit Against Lil Wayne

The producer suing Lil Wayne for the beat to "Mrs. Officer" has hired a musicologist as an expert witness for the case.

Lil Wayne's lawsuit over the beat for his Bobby V-assisted 2008 hit "Mrs. Officer" has taken a turn for the worse. Now, the plaintiff Michael "Mali Boy" Bradford has enlisted the aid of an expert musicologist to testify in his case against the Young Money rapper.

Bradford filed the suit back in January 2009 claiming that he had originally made the beat five years prior to its release. Producer Deezle had apparently reworked the beat, originally titled "Popeye," for Wayne's Tha Carter III and received all of the credit for its production.

Now, Bradford has hired Dr. Felicia M. Miyakawa of Middle Tennessee State University to testify on his behalf as an expert witness in musicology. Miyakawa, an Associate Professor of Musicology and Assistant Director of the MTSU School of Music, compared Deezle and Bradford's versions of the song and says that there is enough similarity to bring the suit to court.

"Hip-Hop producers have become adept at reducing samples to smaller and smaller chunks of sound and reordering sampled bits so that the source material will be unrecognizable," she wrote. "But if random V103 audience members can hear these striking similarities, clearly the producer of 'Mrs. Officer' did not hide the source material and in particular the riffs - adequately. Further, these riffs are the most identifiable parts of a larger groove that establishes the identity of a previously copyrighted song."

AllHipHop has also provided a musical chart highlghting the similarities bewtween the two songs.
Bradford isn't the only person suing Weezy for "Mrs. Officer." Apparently, Deezle is also suing Weezy F. for $2.5 million worth of royalties for the very same song.

Papoose Gives His Take On Remy Ma Appeal

Papoose Gives His Take On Remy Ma Appeal

Remy Ma's husband voices his thoughts on Remy Ma's failed appeal.

It was announced on Thursday (February 24) that rapper Remy Ma's appeal to overturn her 2008 convictions on assault, weapons possession, and coercion charges was rejected.

Accordingly, her husband, Brooklyn emcee Papoose, had insight to Remy's state of mind, and was able to give his own take on the matter as well.

“She wasn’t happy about it, but she understands the situation that she’s in,” he said in an interview with XXLmag.com. “Mentally she’s free, her mind is right. She’s a strong person [and] she’s got strong family around her so she gonna be alright. We just gotta continue to fight.”

Papoose indicated some hope, as two of the seven judges ruled in her favor, including the chief judge. “That’s definitely a good sign that somebody is definitely seeing the truth of what’ really going on here, which is the fact that she’s innocent,” he added.

If no other channels can be taken to reduce Remy's sentence, she will remain in prison until 2016.

Big Sean Says ‘Watch the Throne’ Will Be ‘Legendary’

Big Sean
Big Sean is keeping the world waiting to hear his highly-anticipated debut Finally Famous, but he is willing to shed some light on another top-secret project. The G.O.O.D. Music rapper revealed that his mentor Kanye West played him tracks off of his joint album with Jay-Z, Watch the Throne, and that fans should expect big things.

“I’ve heard a few songs off of it at least. Not the whole thing,” Sean said. “It’s cold. Everybody’s going to love it, man. It’s Kanye and Jay-Z, you know. Expect nothing less than legendary. It’s dope to see two people collaborate like that.”

Though he was unable to give away any song titles, Sean was more than happy to share his opinion on ‘Ye, who both produces and raps on Finally Famous, recalling the first time he ever spit a rhyme for his mentor.
“It was the most nerve-wracking experience of my life. But you’ve got to man up, and that’s what separates the men from the boys. That’s what separates the men from the mice, and those are the defining moments that you’ve got to pull through and do what you’ve got to do,” he said. “Kanye is definitely on another level, just [for him] to even hear the potential of somebody as they rap for you.”

With his debut due March 29, Big Sean is more than ready to reveal who he truly is. “You can expect a story of somebody who realizes what they want to do in life and what young people go through, from falling in and out of love, partying, having fun, getting fucked up, and everywhere in between,” he said of Finally Famous. “This shit is what we been working for. We put in our work to get where we’re at.”

Video: Jessie J Catches Bieber Fever, Performs on ‘Graham Norton’

Jessie J
Jessie J didn’t pop a bottle when her smash “Price Tag” hit the top of the singles chart in the U.K. Grabbing a seat on BBC One’s “The Graham Norton Show,” the British songbird explained that she went the untraditional route to congratulate herself on the career milestone.

“I got my teeth whitened,” revealed the 22-year-old songstress, who showed off her pearly whites. “I really did though. You think I’m joking, I’m really not.”

The wise-cracking star also discussed rubbing elbows with Justin Bieber at the BRIT Awards, where she was named Critics’ Choice. While the teen idol is known for putting moves on the ladies, she insists he remained a gentleman. “He was really sweet. He actually mentioned me at the BRITs. I was sitting there powdering my nose, kind of waiting to go up on stage, really nervous, and I just heard like, ‘Yeah, I’m really feeling Jessie J!’ And I just felt like all his fans, even though they weren’t there, were just like ‘Grr!’” she joked. “He’s lovely. And his film’s really good. His hair in 3-D is epic.”

Wearing a nude-colored catsuit she described as a “fancy condom,” Jessie also performed “Price Tag” from her debut album Who You Are, arriving in the U.K. next week and on April 12 in the U.S.

This arrest comes almost a year to the day Juve was last busted for weed.

Following yesterday's arrest in Sterlington, Louisiana Juve paid a $750 bond and was released.

Eminem Gives Dr Dre That Extra Push Needed To Finish 'Detox' [Video]

I admit to being puzzled initially by the choice to make "I Need A Doctor" the second single/video for 'Detox.' But after listening to the interview below with Dr Dre and Eminem it makes much more sense.

In the video Eminem raps over an Alex Da Kid produced track about how Dre saved his life at the beginning of his career, and how he wants to return the favor by bringing Doc out of the coma he's in due to a car crash.

The car crash I think is just metaphorically speaking, feels like Dre’s been in a coma, and like me and hip-hop are trying to wake him up out of his coma," Eminem told Extra.

It does seem like the wait for 'Detox' has been a very, very long one. Eminem thinks it's time for that wait to be over.

"The reaction I wanted was to spark him even more than he's been sparked lately. And kind of push it further to get him to finish the album," Em added

Dre says it worked, giving him that last burst of creative energy to get it done.

That’s what it did. He was like, ‘Yo, come on, let’s go! Let’s get it.’ This is what he was saying after I heard the song,” Dre said. “It’s weird because that’s how I started feeling last night during the making of this video, kind of feeling the rehabilitation and everything. It just really feels that way.”

The divas duked it out on Friday night as Ciara and Rihanna got into a feisty Twitter exchange that had the Internet buzzing.

CiCi appeared as a guest judge on E!’s “Fashion Police” earlier in the evening. When a photo of Rihanna at the BRIT Awards was shown on screen, she commented, “I ran into her recently at a party and she wasn’t the nicest and it’s crazy because I’ve always loved and respected what she’s done with fashion. I’ve ran into her before, but this time it wasn’t the most pleasant run-in.”

Host Joan Rivers chimed in by saying, “A b****!” before Ciara told her with a laugh, “You crazy.”

Rihanna was tuned in to the television because she responded on Twitter shortly after the episode aired. “My bad ci, did I 4get to tip u? #howrudeofme,” she wrote before Ciara shot back, “Trust me Rhianna u dont want to see me on or off the stage.”

“U gangsta huh? Haaa,” laughed the “S&M” singer. “Good luck with bookin that stage u speak of.”

Ciara agreed to put it behind them, telling her peer, “Rhi u know its always been love since day 1! Doing shows/everything. you threw me off in that party! Apology accepted. Let’s chat in person.”

Jennifer Hudson Confines Herself to Prison Cell for Film Role

Jennifer Hudson
Jennifer Hudson traveled to a dark place for her latest film role. The Oscar-winning actress stayed in a prison cell for three days so she could channel apartheid-era icon Winnie Mandela for a biopic.

In order to depict the 500-plus days the former wife of Nelson Mandela spent in solitary confinement, the svelte Hudson confined herself day and night to a prison set in South Africa. She tells Newsweek that she wanted to “experience some of the hell that woman went through.”

By the third day, she started to lose her mind. Her physical appearance had deteriorated and she was having imaginary conversations with her son. The harrowing experience left her emotionally and physically exhausted.

“They snatched her out of her home and she had no idea what happened to her children,” Hudson says of Mandela. “Imagine living that? This was her life! This was real. As a woman, I am angry for her, hurting for her. And as a mom? God, being in solitary confinement, away from my son just for five days when shooting those scenes—it was too much for me. I was drained and stripped down. I was changed.”

The film has stirred controversy after the real Winnie Mandela threatened legal action to halt production. It is expected to hit theaters by September, while Hudson’s sophomore album I Remember Me is due March 22.

In a recent interview with Ms. River City, Lupe Fiasco broke down the songs for his upcoming album Lasers, what he thought about his Fiasco Friday tribute, and how he has changed musically over the past couple of albums.

One other topic that was brought up was working with Jay-Z, who Lupe worked with on his freshman album "Food and Liquor" in the track "Pressure."
"Maybe, not on this record because it's done.  Jay is the big homie, so you never know about the future!"
Although it may not be clear on when this collaboration will happen, it is certain that Lasers will be dropping March 8th.

Kanye West Calls Out Gold Diggers And Warns Ballers To Strap Up

Kanye West Tweets On Abortion: Rips 'Gold Diggin' B**ches'

Since Kanye West discovered Twitter, some of his opinions have caused a stir or two. Yesterday his rant has arguably set off his biggest backlash so far as Ye commented on abortion.

He later on clarified that it never happened to him but he knows people that were affected by expensive abortions.

British Pop singer Lily Allen, who just suffered a second miscarriage was not amused by the outburst. She wrote:

We already know how Yeezy feels about "Gold Diggers," so is he wrong for speaking his mind?
