Eminem Wins American Music Awards, Favorite Rap/R&B Male Artist & Album



With Black Eyed Peas also winning, Eminem took two coveted Rap awards at last night's AMAs.

Detroit, Michigan Hip Hop superstar Eminem took home two American Music Awards, taped at Los Angeles' Nokia Theater, and airing on the ABC network. The Aftermath/Shady/Interscope Records artist won for "Best Male Artist" in the Rap/R&B category.

Additionally, Eminem's summer album, Recovery, won for "Best Album" in the Rap/R&B category. The album, featuring production from Just Blaze, Boi-1da and Havoc, may see triple platinum status by year's end. Eminem was not in attendance to receive his awards.

Eminem's labelmates, Hip Hop-turned-Pop stars The Black Eyed Peas also won "Favorite Pop/Rock Band" award. Their album, The Beginning, will release next week.

Diddy and Dirty Money performed at the awards.
