The ailing real estate economy has caught up to R&B singer Alicia Keys and her husband Swizz Beatz, who are attempting to sell Keys' Syosset, New York mansion.
Keys, who put the 2.2. acre, six-bedroom mansion on the market for $3.5 million in June, has been forced to chop down the selling price to $2.99 million after just six months.
The singer is attempting to sell the gated mansion, which comes with an elegant in-ground pool, marble floors, spiral staircases, for the new $14 million Manhattan penthouse she shares with her superstar producer/husband, Swizz

A number of other famous entertainers have been impacted by the real estate

In August, Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons slashed the price of his Saddlebrook, New Jersey mansion from $23 million to $13 million.
In February, rapper Eve, put her Hollywood Hills mansion up for sale, while Kanye West recently put his Hollywood Hills, California mansion on the market for $3.99 million.
In July, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz reportedly purchased Lenny Kravitz' former Manhattan penthouse for $14 million, over $5 million less than the original asking price of $19.5 million dollars.
