Kid Cudi Separates With Manager & Label

Kid Cudi recently announced his decision to split with his manager, Patrick “Plain Pat” Reynolds, his partner and producer Emile Haynie, and his imprint Dream On.

Explaining the business move via his official Twitter account, Cudi said that ultimately the trio had a “diff vision.”

“New number, new email, starting fresh,” wrote Cudi on Friday (February 25). “Lettin go of all things holding me back. If you have my contacts, don’t hit them after today. If I [haven’t] hit u by now to tell u, good knowing u and I wish u well. Feels good to start over, opening a new chapter…focused on my empire, focused on love, focused on family. If your [sic] not in that equation, byeeeeeeee.”

On Saturday (February 26), the Cleveland-based rapper added, “Pat and Emile are doing their own thing, I wish them well. I have a diff vision, for music, for the world. I’m just doing the right thing, I come from a different place. People lose sight of the mission. Cant expect everyone to be built like me. When people have different visions, you gotta go your own way.”

Cudi released his sophomore effort, Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager, in November of last year via G.O.O.D. Music/Universal Motown. He is currently working on his rock-inspired LP, Wizards.
