?uestlove Explains Gluing Together Broken Grammy Award

The Roots' drummer explains how winning three new Grammys has given him motivation to glue together a long-ago broken Grammy award.

The Roots scored three Grammys earlier this year for their critically acclaimed collaboration album with John Legend, titled Wake Up! The trio of awards is the first since the group's previous Grammy in 1999 for the song "You Got Me" with Erykah Badu and Eve.

While their first Grammy is no doubt held in high esteem, ?uestlove told PhillyMag.com that, until recently, the award had been accidentally broken in two and set on a peculiar resting place.

"My Grammy was broken in two pieces and always a fixture on my toilet, simply because I was self-defeating and thought it would never happen in this lifetime again. Now that I have an additional three, I've invested in some Krazy Glue and a relocation to the living room."

The group, who continues to play as late night host Jimmy Fallon's in-house band, will join Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert in a performance of the viral hit "Friday," originally sung by Rebecca Black. The pending comical performance helped to raise over $26,000 for schools in need.
