The video of Solange Knowles attacking Jay Z has everyone in shock, but according to US Weekly it isn't something new.
A report this morning suggests that the singer often becomes unhinged during fits of anger and Jay Z and Beyonce are used to it by now.
Prior to the May 5 elevator meltdown at the Standard Hotel in New York City, Solange yelled at designer Rachel Roy and others at the Boom Boom Room earlier in the evening before her sister, Beyonce, "got in the middle of it."
"Solange has flipped her lid like that before," an insider told Us Weekly. "She is genuinely a sweet and nice person but she also keeps sh*t real. She can take a small thing and it triggers her. This is not the first time this has happened. That's why Bey and Jay were so calm. They are used to this from Solange. It has definitely happened before."
"It is a testament to Beyonce's calm nature how she kept back and played the peacekeeper here," a second source says. "She is so calm and always the peacekeeper."
TMZ is also reporting that a tweet supposedly from Solange that circulated around social media on Monday, May 12, following the release of the fight video is fake. The fraudulent tweet claimed the fight was a result of Jay hitting Beyonce. It's complete nonsense and didn't originate from Solange's account.
