Tyga's Pet Tiger Could Get Him Locked Up For Illegal Possession Of A Wild Animal

Tyga could be facing six months in jail if convicted of misdemeanor charges of possession of a prohibited species

The rapper bought a pet tiger and had it at his Ventura County home. California Wildlife authorities went to his home after receiving a call the tiger was there. Apparently theYMCMB artist had no idea it was illegal to possess a wild animal.

Tigers must be kept in a permitted facility and not in private homes.

Prior to Wildlife authorities showing up at his home, Tyga had placed the animal in a private shelter. Officers picked up the 7-month old cat and had it taken to a state facility.

“The important thing to us is the health and safety of the animal and it’s safe and sound for now," California Department of Fish and Wildlife spokesman Andrew Hughan told KTLA. "This incident is under investigation. We may or may not file charges."
